I get a new boss every year....we elect 6 new board members and they appoint a "commodore" for a year. I've had five commodores in the last 4 years--and this one has been a total jerk!
For the past 4 years, my club has closed the last two weeks of December and re-opened for New Year's eve. This is when club staff takes vacation. Last year, a bunch of us took a cruise. This year, I booked my flight to Orlando in February when I got good rates, my daughter and grandson have booked their flights, we have a rental car reserved and I've already paid off our accommodations.
Today, I found out that they (the board) has decided closing the last two weeks in December is too long, and they're going to stay open longer in the event someone MIGHT want to book a party.
When I told my boss I already had airline tickets, and the chef was planning to be out of town that time, the pompass jerk tells me "This has been in the works for a while. We'll have to talk about it". (Of course, this is the first I've heard about it).
Talk about non-refundable tickets??? My daughter and grandson will lose their tickets, too, because she won't go without me.
And what gets me, his tenure will be over the first of December and he won't even be around but will have messed everything up for everyone.
I could just scream!!!
