Is there anyway to find out in advance if a TS restaurant, will let my (just turned) 10 year old, order from the kid's menu? I don't want to make an ADR, go to the restaurant, and find out he can't order what he wants, I would just do a CSs. I know with buffets we will be fine.
I don't mind paying extra for an adult portion of an item from the children's menu.

If they said he couldn't, could he sit there while we eat, and then we would go get him something somewhere else? I know I am probably over worring, but I thought I read that WDW is getting strict with this policy.

The only 3 on my list that I am worried about are
Raglan Road at DTD
Chef de France at E
Boatwrights at POR

My other choices should be fine, they are a set price
CapeMay at BC
Crystal Palace at MK
Ohana at Poly (hope he could get the chicken nuggets, like last time)

Anyone had any recent experiences?

Are you on a dining plan? From what I gather they are much more strict with people who are on the dining plan.

I'm 15, and I'm such a picky eater that at most WDW restaurants I tend to order off the kids menu. They give me no problem, so I can't imagine them giving your 10 year old a problem! However, they may charge him as an adult (but considering his age i'm unsure if they will).
Hope this helps! :)

I don't think you will have a problem at Boatwrights as it's Disney owned/operated.

Not sure about the other ones.

Most places don't seem to have a problem with it. The Plaza in MK some have reported having problems when on the DDP.

Lots of people haven't had trouble paying out of pocket for a kid's meal (when the child is 10+ or an adult).

If you're not on the dining plan, there's no reason you should tell anyone how old your son is. It's not like you could easily look at a kid and see whether he's 9 or 10. Just order. It's not like you'd be cheating anything; you're paying for what he's ordering.

If I am not mistaken it is only the non owned by Disney restaurants that there have been issues.
And if I remember correctly most have been on the DDP.
So places in Epcot can be a hit or miss. I am thinking Le Chefs de France is one that is picky...but I am not certain.

I wouldn't worry about it too much because if you are paying OOP, shouldn't be an issue.

Actually, as previously mentioned, The Plaza in the MK is one that is very strict. I think that is Disney owned.
I agree however, that there may be more issues with the non-Disney owned restaurants. Unfortuantely for your situation, there is a policy and that is that 10 is an adult. Any restaurant has the right to enforce that policy if they choose to. I am not saying that 10 is the right age, but it is the policy.
To answer your question, there is no way to know in advance.

Since he is so close in age to the kids menu age, I doubt they would even bat an eye.

We were down in December with DS-then10 (not on dining plan) and every place we ate (Table service, counter service and on the Wonder) offered him the choice of ordering from either menu. At the TS restaurants, the hostess asked him if wanted a kids' menu to color and then the servers reminded him that he could order whatever he wanted to eat.

If you aren't on the dining plan, I wouldn't worry a bit.
