Can I exchange dirty sheets for clean ones ?

We are staying in a GV for a few days. One couple will be staying one night then moving to a studio. I want the next couple who will be coming and staying in that bedroom to have clean sheets/towels but I'd rather not have to wash them myself. If we strip the beds, can we exchange the sheets for clean ones? I wouldn't expect housekeeping to make up the beds, just get me the sheets.

Anyone do this?

I would think you would need to pay for a cleaning or wash them yourself.

I agree, if you want them to give you clean ones , I would say you would have to pay, I would wash them and let the guest make the bed.

They usually have a ton of extra sheets.
I'm sure if you catch a CM in the hallway they would gladly exchange the sheet for you.

Yes, you can request a new pack of sheets/towels, there is a cost for it, but I don't recall the amount.

Nevermind, found out my answer was not correct...

We requested clean sheets for one of our beds at AKV (2 bedroom villa) and they were provided at no charge. I asked how much it would be for Mousekeeping to change the linens for us, but it was excessive -- I can't remember how much, but I remember that I didn't consider it for a second! Much to our surprise, the sheets were changed for us and we weren't charged. We left a very nice tip!

Does housekeeping change your sheets on your normal clean-up day? I thought the policy was only between guests.

There is no exchange program using DVC.

Your options are to clean the sheets yourself or to request (and pay for) an additional full cleaning for the viila when you wish.

Enjoy! :)

This summer we had a 2br and a studio, with a change in occupants mid week. I asked for sheets rather than washing them myself and housekeeping brought them. When I made the request I asked that the charge be billed to my room. Upon check out there was no charge for sheets. I've requested towels in the past in the same manner and to date I've never been charged.

There are always great inconsistencies with what should happen and what actually happens with housekeeping and MS. It's kind of a crap shoot!

No, we all paid for them. Someone has to.
I've been willing to pay, I've asked to pay, yet never been charged. I don't expect anything for free but how did you manage to get charged for them? The manager wouldn't put it on my bill!

I believe what Deb is referring to is the fact that when you get something that should have been paid for, the membership as a whole has to pay for it with increased dues. This is a timeshare. One of the ways that costs are kept down is by reduced housekeeping. Not trying to speak for Deb, but this is what I got from her post.

I understand this but if housekeeping and mgmt. don't enforce the rules by charging for those extras when they occur, then it's exactly as you say, we all pay by having bigger housekeeping costs which in turn increase our dues!

I would be interested to see if anyone has actually been charged for more towels and or sheets? I think it's very few.

I hope you didn't think I was accusing you of anything. That was not my intention. In fact, I had seen your previous post where you said that you asked for it to be billed to your room. I was responding to your question to Deb. And Deb was in turn responding to someone else who was stating that they had gotten a "bunch of extra sheets no charge". Like you, I wish that they would be consistent and charge for extras that are not included. I don't mind a bit if I have to wash my own sheets or towels. It's one of the reasons I love DVC because I am not paying for something that I can do myself; however, if others are getting extra towels and sheets, then I am paying for it anyway and I am being penalized for playing by the rules.

We have requested extra towel packages at AKV and they act like they don't know what we are talking about and just bring extra towels to the room.
Maybe it is because this is a mixed resort with regular rooms...:confused3
We have never expected them for nothing...
Does DVC have seperate Mousekeeping from the regular rooms at AKV ???
