We are staying at WL but want to go over to the QS at Poly to have Tonga Toast. Can anyone eat at the QS restaurants in the resorts or do you have to stick to your resort?

All food establishments outside of the Parks are available to anyone (with the necessary money). This also applies to the stores.

no...this is the only situation where Disney wont allow you to spend money :thumbsup2

Of course. My DH& I recently stayed at the Poly and we monorailed it over to GF and CR to try their quick service restaurants. It was a lot of fun. Enjoy!

When I have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn I have gone to the Contemporary and Grand Floridian so I could eat at their Quick Service locations.

Anyone can eat at the resort restaurants. You don't even have to be staying anywhere as a guest of Disney.

You can.

You should.

You must!

And Disney really, really wishes you would. It helps relieve congestion in the park CS locations at peak meal times. And while you're there, take the opportunity to check out the resort itself; Disney hopes you will be so taken with the resort that you'll book a return trip to stay there!

You have the answer to your question, but according to the DIS, neither Kona Island nor Captain Cook's (the QS at Polynesian) have Tonga Toast. I think only the Kona Cafe, a TS restaurant (that also books up quickly for breakfast) has Tonga Toast.

Captain Cook's does have Tonga Toast.

Sugardimples is right.. Capt. Cook's does serve Tonga Toast and it's very tasty. Big difference between the Tonga Toast at Capt. Cook's and Kona is that Kona serves it with a strawberry compote type sauce.

And we have had it there many times. I think it is a slightly different version.

From Kona:
Tonga Toast - banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote and your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage $10.99

From Captain Cooks:
Tonga Toast - banana-stuffed sourdough bread, battered, deep-fried and dusted with cinnamon and sugar $5.19

We went to Captain Cooks one Saturday morning about 2 years ago and had the Tonga Toast and they were doing special hula lessons in the lobby. We had a great time and my DSS (21) got called up with all the girls and he had a blast. We love visiting all the different resorts and taking advantage of how beautiful they are. Of course we eat and shop also so Disney has no problem with this.

Linda

Great, thanks - glad they have it! Sorry for the misinformation!
