Can I drop first & last day off UPP??

First question, staying at the Swan first three days, can I purchase this pass at the Swan?? I think maybe I read
somewhere that you could but I am not sure.

Second question, we are arriving Monday afternoon, and would
not get much use of it so I would like to drop the arrival day
then we are checking out Thursday morning and moving to
AKL where our package Land & Sea starts so I don't need it
that day either (I already have that day as day one of our
package). Has anyone tried to drop both days??? Can I do this?

You can drop the first and last day from an UPH and I believe you can purchase these passes at the Swan/Dolphin. I'm going to move this to our resorts board for you, though, because the experts over there are much more knowledgeable about these things than I.

We have dropped both the 1st day and last day from our UPH passes. What we had to do, though, is book our reservation as 3 separate reservations. So one day with no pass, the middle days with the pass, and the last day with no pass -- equals 3 separate reservations. It was no trouble for the desk as they seemed used to doing this. As a side note, we stayed in the same room the whole time.... When I was going through your dilemma, several people on these boards said that you could drop the 1st and last day w/o making separate reservations. I took someone's advice, though, and booked 3 separate just to be sure!

I don't know the answer to your Swan question. Have fun -- we just got back from AKL a few days ago!!

We are getting to CSR in the early evening & I will be purchasing our UPHs the next morning. I understand the CM can chop off the last day of our stay if we do it this way. (we will be leaving early our last day) I did not want to fiddle with the 3 reservations thing, as we have a total of 4 rooms & did not want to make it more complicated.

We have dropped both 1st and last day off. It must be done at the hotel. My understanding is if you have a package or add your tickets to a room only reservation prior to your arrival you can not drop any days.

I am not sure I understand. I do have a room only reservation
at the Swan and this is what I was planning the buy the
ultimate park hopper pass for . I wanted it for two days and one
night (dropping the first and last day). We then check out of the
Swan and move over to AKL where our package starts. Adding
days to the land and Sea package was over $500 per night
so we are doing it this way. But the Swan hotel is not involved in
that part of reservation at all so I hopped to buy the UPP from them .

You can buy UPH passes at the guest relations counter in the Dolphin (I assume the Swan has their own) and have days taken off. We spend three nights at the Dolphin in 2002 and bought a 2 day UPH from the in-hotel counter.

You know I can't immagine that people go to DW without the

Sorry Wintermom, should have said add the UHP to room only before you arrive. We were told you can only drop days if you are buying the UHP once you reach your hotel. Glad someone clearled that up for you.

I'm a little confused by the responses here, so I would call the Swan and ask. They are VERY nice. I know you can drop either the first or last day, but I'm not sure you can do both without making 2 seperate reservations.

Also, you should be able to have the Swan move your luggage to AKL for you. I would ask them that just to be sure, but several others have posted that the Swan/Dolphin will move luggage to any Disney Resort.

OK, OK... let me clear things up here. YES, you can drop off the first and last days from your UPH. However, if you bought these tickets as part of a package then you can't change anything at all. You've already paid for it, and the hotel that you're staying at does not have the authority to change it. So, if you're on a rooms only reservation and you are planning on buying the UPH when you get to Disney, you should be fine. Just make sure you tell the CM that you want to drop the days off.

We bought room only last June, and bought our UPH tickets at the desk at the Swan. They asked without me even inquiring if I wanted to drop the first or the last days off our tickets. Dropping your first/last day or both will be no problem if you are purchasing tickets at the Swan/Dolphin Disney ticket desks.

I thought I read somewhere that you could drop your first or last day, not both. Maybe someone could clarify this. I took the following from Deb's site. ~~

If you wait until resort check in to purchase your UPH, you will pay a little more for your UPH's but it may be more advantageous to you since you may have either your arrival day or departure day removed thus saving you some money over the advance purchased UPH's. If your UPH's were purchased as part of a Disney package (Dream Maker, Resort Magic, Grand Plan, etc), you cannot change them to drop a day.

You can drop the first or the last or BOTH. But only if you buy them at the resorts. If you pre-purchased on a package, then you're getting what you paid for and the resorts won't change them if you change your mind (well, without a lot of red tape to go through!)

We booked a "Visa Kids Free" package and dropped the first day of UPH by technically making it two different reservations. The first night is room only. The next four nights are package. CM said that we are not guaranteed the same room, but that typically resorts accomodate such situations.
