Next Monday we check out of AKV into 2br at BCV. There are 4 of us.....my sister is flying home late that night. Can I add her to the room even if she isn't staying over so she & her boys can use SAB with us? As long as we are not exceeding occupancy for the room, right?

Yes, so long as you're not exceeding the maximum occupancy of the room, you can add people to the reservation even if they'll only be there for a portion of the stay.

I'm assuming you're not doing the dining plan?

Oh, one other thing... make sure you've added the names to the reservation via member services before you check in. (Hope you haven't done an online check-in yet.) I tried to add my parents to our studio at BCV last time we were there for the same reason. It was our last day in Florida and their first. We were going to spend the morning together at SAB. It would have worked, except that I didn't think about it early enough. I went down to the desk the morning after we'd checked in to add their names to the room, and was told I couldn't add a guest to a DVC room after we'd already checked in.

I have not done online check in and this would be our first day at BCV. So are you saying that adding them when I check in at BCV might not work, and I should call MS in advance and add them? Or if I add them at check in should that be sufficient?

Thanks for the info!

Don't take a chance. Call member services before your check-in day.

This must be new, because I do it all the time!

I agree with Dave that you should call MS and add them just to be safe. But it is hard to believe that you can't add someone to a room after you get to WDW. So if I'm staying in a 1BR with my wife and my daughter decides to fly down for a couple of days on a whim, they wouldn't let her stay with me? I find that extremely hard to believe. I think you got a CM with faulty information, Dave.

I'm glad to hear others think it was hokey, too. When the front desk told me that, I called Member Services and that cast member told me the same thing.

This was in August.

We added people on the fly at AKV in Sept. They can't prevent you having appropriate people in the room if you're within occupancy, even if you have a DP option, all they could do would be to require you pay for them.
