Can I Do This???

I don't see why a 7:00 ADR would be a problem if you do not have a ticket to MVMCP. The park is technically open to day guests until 7 pm, it is only after that time that day guests are asked to leave. If you show up to the ADR 15 mins early like Disney requests and check in, then they should seat you and allow you to eat your dinner. Don't expect to dawdle after your ADR, you will escorted right to the front of the park to exit, no bathroom or shopping breaks, but they won't kick you out of the restaurant in the middle of your meal.

The 7:40 ADR is a different situation, at that point the park is closed to day guests, and they can escort you out while you are waiting for your ADR time, because you likely will not be sat for dinner prior to 7 pm.

True, but the park is technically closed @7 and that means one will be the park after hours AND during a special event, I am thinking here that Disney is keen on those kind of doings, at least one hopes so. With SOOOOOOOOOOO many restaurants in WDW why even try to cheat the system??? :confused3

How on earth was the pp to know that the person is a cast member.. come on! Some of the info was not given in the nicest of ways. I do not blame the pp for feeling flamed.. could have been suggested in a nicer manner that they call back to inquire about their reservation.. simple as that!

Thanks for the support. I was going to comment back but then I said I would cut bait and walk away from the thread. Then I read your post. Thank you.

No I did not know "Rusty" was a cm. I bugs me to think people go right to the negative and think I was trying to get away w/ activities w/out paying for the ticket. I wasn't even thinking about the party. All I was thinking was it is our arrival day. We always go to MK on our arrival day. I didn't know when we would get to the park so I thought we'd get an ADR for somewhere in MK. The only one I could get was 7:40 @ Tony's. I forgot all about MNSSHP going on. I was just happy to not have to travel somewhere else for dinner. I have a 9 year old and a 9 months old as I said. Our flight takes off @ 6am. They will be up at 4am so I didn't think they would like to go to another resort or somewhere else for dinner. It was just a convience of staying in the MK for dinner. I assure you. I was NOT thinking about getting something for "free". As a side note. We had planned on leaving the MK after our ADR and head to our resort.
I don't understand why people go right to thinking badly about people. It was an honest mistake on my part I guess not thinking about MNSSHP.

And I have changed our ADR.

Again I wasn't trying to "cheat" the system. As far as Disney goes, I guess they should mention that when your making your ADR's. What if I wasn't a planner and didn't know that MNSSHP was that night? Not everyone knows the times and schedules like we do. And to be honest I forgot all about the party being that night. I was just looking for any ADR in the MK around 7pm. I know there are a LOT of places to eat but again I didn't want to travel somewhere else after traveling all day w/ my kids. I just wanted to end our first day w/ a nice meal and then head back to the resort for some rest.

Please don’t take offence to anybody post as it’s just a public forum…..;)

I saw it, as well as what looks like others as, one of those “Can I get away with this” type of posts, hang around enough and you will see it pop up from time to time, reoccurring themes like pool hopping, reusing the refillable mugs, best resort, best restaurant etc…...

Honest mistake, well who doesn’t make them from time to time, have fun and enjoy your vacation!!!

I tried not to take offence to it. But when someone said I booked the ADR w/ that in mind I took offence. But thank you for your post. I know I should let it go it's all fun and advice. I know how heated debates can get. I was going to walk away from it but it must be the "PMS" that's making me debate it. I'm better now and thank you.

I think they MIGHT have more issues with people with ADR's during the parties this year. My SIL is traveling at the same time as us but made her own ADR's online. She was able to get 50's cafe Sept 11th at 7:40 PM (park closes at 6 for Night of Joy) and Crystal Palace Sept 15th at 8:05 PM (a Halloween party night) she did not have tickets to either hard ticket event. when I read her list I told her to call and check and they helped her change her ADR's. I thought sil must not have read the fine print but I went in and looked up MK the night of the party and was offered a time after 7. I am not saying they won't still make people leave I just think there will be more people like my sister in law who didn't know park hours and made theirs online. They may have fixed this as she made hers online in the first week it was available to anyone. We have Halloween party tickets but don't want to "waste" our party time eating so we eating early not in the park.

Hmm, you know. I did not even think about the party. Can someone please point me to the party dates. So, I can make sure. I have crossed all my T's, and dotted my i''. TIA

just went back and checked online to see if they had fixed it. I searched for Tuesday Sept 15th at 8:00 pm for 4 adults at Crystal Palace
I was offered
CP at 7:45
CP at 8:15
LTT ay 8:05
and Califirnia Grill ( so one was not in the park at least)
I didn't go past the 1st page to see if it told me I needed a special ticket but it didn't last time.

I actually thought that during the parties would be a good time to get a dinner reservation at some of the harder to book restaurants in the MK, b/c the restaurants would be less crowded. Who is going to pay to go to the party, and then spend half the party in a restaurant? LOL!!!

Guess I was wrong, and it's not allowed. Oh well! Seemed like a good idea at the time!

Sure the system will let you book at those times. But it also states that you must have a valid park ticket, which on party nights means a party ticket since the park is closed to all but those holding a party ticket.

They will not seat you after about 6 without a ticket, and that is what makes it a problem. Theresturants are asking for party tickets before they wil seat you for an ADR after 6:00. Disney has goten wise to the people that use this as a way to sneak into MVMCP, and people who truly want to eat and then leave are out of luck!!

I can see exactly where you are coming from :thumbsup2- I am always reading how people grab a quick CS meal rather than 'waste time' eating TS during the parties - So I can totally see why you would imagine the restaurants may well be quieter. (I know I won't be using them during MVMCP - I will be too busy queueing for the shows & parade!!;))

Please keep in mind that not every person that comes here is looking to game the system or has a masters in Disney

While there will always be those that try to game the system, not every one is! Please treat posters with respect and let's leave the snarky at the door.

The Restaurant Boards are open to any and all questions. We are happy to share knowledge with folks planning a first trip, 30th trip and everything in between :cheer2:

I think with having the new online system, there might be more of these errors. If availability is coming up, people may assume (which seems to be the case) that it's fine with just regular park admission. I'm sure also there may be the odd person who thinks that they can hang around for free, but I'm sure there are plenty of honest mistakes too. Every time I've booked dining over the phone for a party night the CM has reminded me that it is a party night, perhaps not all do, don't know.

I think the wording "a valid ticket" is a little vague. They ought to have something that says that it is a hard ticket event night. Or at least advice you to check your night for any parties. I know not all WDW visitors are as obsessive with their planning details as I am, so I can see it happening a lot.

Thats what I was trying to say you just said it better. I know my sis in law had no idea that she didn't have a valid ticket for that night until I told her. She thought since she was there 5 days and had 5 day hopper tickets she was ok.
