Can I do this?

We are going in June with a package, dining, and one-day tickets. Since we already having AP's, we don't need the tickets. I know I can use them them for my AP's next year.

My DD wants to take her friend with us. Since she doesn't have an AP, can I do one or both of the following since I'm on a package:

1. Can I upgrade her (AND ONLY HER) one-day to 7-day when we get there?

2. Can I use all four of our one-day tickets and buy her 7-day ticket?

I know you can do the first scenario. Not sure about the second.

You can upgrade a one day ticket anytime within 14 days of when you use it so scenario 1 will work. The only thing you could do with the second is let her use a one day ticket a day for 4 days. See if it is cheaper to use 3 tickets for one day each and add 3 days to the 4th instead of upgrading one to 7 days. Are you thouroughly confused yet?

Did the math because i was curious. If you upgade a one day base ticket to a 7 day base it will cost 152.49. If you have her use 3 of the tickets as a 1 day and upgrade the last to a 3 day it will cost 133.12 but then you will have nothing to apply to next years AP. The first option is a much better value. It will save you around 200 dollars in the long run.

Thanks for the research!! To upgrade a one-day to a 7-day hopper is $181.00. To upgrade a one-day to a four-day hopper is $178.00. If they don't let me combine the three into one, I'll just upgrade her one-day to 7-day and keep mine for next year's AP's.

You can definetly only use 1 ticket toward each new 1 ticket purchased, sorry

InstImpres is right.. you cannot 'combine' tickets.. it is strictly one for one upgrades.

I was told by the CM I talked to that I could not upgrade our two tickets without also upgrading his because it was attached to the room key. ?????

You can upgrade just one, just go to guest sevices at any park or at DTD. They don't care what kind of package you have they are just looking at the ticket you give them to be upgraded. Maybe you can ask not to have your ticket on your room key.

Sept '05 and again Sept '06 I booked free dining and had to buy one day tickets for everyone in the room. I already had an AP. Once we got down there I used my AP and upgraded everyone else's tickets to 9 day MYW tickets. I still have my one day tickets. I'm doing the same thing this Sept ('07).

Personally, since you said that the difference is only $3, I would upgrade her one ticket to a 7-day. That way you're not giving up the discount your tickets will give you for your APs.

So even though the tickets were part of the package, you didn't have to upgrade everyone's ticket? Am I understanding this correct? That would be FABULOUS! So if we all 3 have a 1 day base ticket attached to the package, we can update mine and my DD's passes? How would that work? Would the amount we paid for the 1 day ticket (around $70 for mine) be applied to the other ticket? So if I wanted a 5 day base ticket for myself, I would have to pay only $148 more? ($219 (5 day base ticket) - $71 (price of one day admission) Does that make sense? Is that correct?

Yes to all of that. The cost of the one day applies to new tickets. You can make them whatever you want. It is Magic Your Way after all
