Can I do this to my Current Reservation...Experienced DVCrs PLEASE Help. THANKS

It is a little long but I want to spell out exactly what I want/hope to do and ask you if it is correct that I can do. Thank you VERY much for taking the time to help me:

I would like to know if I can do this reservation so I can hopefully get what I want at 7 months:

I currently have a 2 bedroom booked at SSR from:
August 26, 2012 through Sunday, Septmber 2, checking out on September 3.

2011: 0 Points left in my September Use Year.
2012: 48 Points left in my September 2012 Use Year

What I would really like to do is a split stay. Stay at BLT (which will just be my mom and me) from check in Sunday, August 26 and check out Wednesday, August 29 (3 nights). Thinking I may get a 2 bedroom, LV if available.
SSR 2 bedroom from August 26-August 29 (3 nights) = 117 points
BLT 2 bedroom from Augut 26-August 29 (3 nights) = 144 points
To do this transaction, I would borrow the 27 points from my Sept. 2012 U/Y
This would leave me with: 21 points in my Septmeber 2012 U/Y

On Wednesday, August 29 I would hopefully like to get BWV-BV View (Pool/Garden second choice) 2 bedroom. At this time my dh and ds will be joining my mother and me. Wednesday, August 29 through Monday, September 3. (5 nights)
SSR 2 bedroom from August 29-September 3 (5 nights) = 195 Points
BWV BW View from August 29-September 3 (5 nights) = 214 Points
To do this transaction, I would use the 195 towards the 214 leaving me with 19 points I needed to get to complete my reservation.
I would use the 21 points in my September 2012 U/Y to complete the reservation, leaving me with 2 points left.

Does this sound all correct, since I have just started to learn all about how the points are being used.

But, as I think about it, I am worried that if I just book the BLT from Sun-Wed and wait to book BWV from Wed-Sun that I may not get BWV since I am trying to come in the middle of the week. I think it may be easier for me to get for the full week starting on a Sunday rather than starting on a Wednesday.

I would like to, on January 26, book the full 8 nights (I think I may have to call back on Jan. 27 to book the 8th night) at BWV since I am nervous that I won't be able to get what I want after 7 months since I would be coming in the middle of the week.

If I book two bedroom BWV, BW View (although I know only Garden/Pool may be available) I would need for 8 nights: 343 Points
I currently have SSR booked for same 8 nights: 312 Points
I can use the SSR 312 points towards the 343 leaving me needing: 31 points
I can complete the reservation using 31 points of my remaining 48 2012 Sept. U/Y points. This would leave me with 17 points left in my 2012 Sept. U/Y.

Now to the question:Once I get the above settled and we have a 2 bedroom secured at BWVs for our full 8 nights, can I then call MS and see if the 2 bedrooms at BLT are available for my Sunday through Wednesday, move just those days off my BWV ressie and still have my BWV ressie for Wednesday-Sunday without having to wait and call for my middle of the week reservation.I am not concerned where any remaining points are put back (in either Sept. 2011 or September 2012 U/Y). It is more important that I get the reservation as I would like it.

Does above make any sense, can it be done and do you anticipate what kind of problem, if any, it would be for me to do this?

I think I am following you. You could call and change to BWV on January 26th. I am not sure if you could change the whole 8 days (online appears to be allowing for 14 days now).

As for the BLT ressie, you would have to wait until Junauary 29th to make those changes.

I think you are trying to get around the 7 month booking window and memeber services is wise to that attempt. So you need to ensure that you would be inside your 7 month window for the new (Aug 29t - Sep 2) BWV ressies. That happens on January 29th.

So if BWV is most important to you, than that is an OK strategy. Just realize that BLT may not be available (and may not be available on January 26 either)

Having BWV is more important than BLT since BWV is what my son wants. BLT my mother and I are doing before he comes with my dh.

Anyway, so you are saying that if I have my full BWV reservation I cannot call back same/next day and reschedule the first part of the trip from August 26-August 29 until January 29 when the BWV part would start?

You will not be able to call Jan 26 (exactly 7 months out) and book 8 nights at BWV. You will only be allowed to book 7. You would have to call the next day, Jan 27, to add the 8th night.

You are correct that the one with the higher risk of not being available at 7 months is any BWV boardwalk view nights since it is only about 15% of the resort and has high demand; BLT lake view is 79% of BLT.

I do not know the answer to whether you can set BWV for eight nights and then essentially immediately turn around and then try to change the first three nights to BLT before Jan 29 which would be 7 months out from the first night of the BWV reservation that would be left. As you recognize you could not just call on Jan 26 and reserve the first three nights at BLT and also 5 nights at BWV starting Aug 29 but usually would have to wait until Jan 29 to add those BWV nights. So what you are asking to do circumvents what one would normally be able to do and thus my doubts. My sense is that if you call, for example, on Jan 27, they will allow you to cancel Aug 26 for BWV and add BLT for that night but won't allow you to cancel any other BWV nights -- you could just do day by day calling to drop and add until you have three BLT nights.

You can not modify the BWV reservation until the first night of that is within the 7 month window. So, if you want your first night at BWV to be Wednesday, then you have to wait until the 7 month window from that date to drop the first 3 nights.

I agree with you that a BW view 2 bedroom is going to be harder than a BLT LV room so I would try to book that first and then call back and change to BLT for those first few nights.

I can say that last summer, I was able to get a BW view 2 bedroom at the 7 month mark.

I ended up calling around 10:00 am the morning of my 7 month window and was able to get it!

So, I think traveling in August gives you a really good chance of getting what you want!

My mother and I decided yesterday we would just stay at the BWVs our full trip, even before the guys come. It will be SO much easier to get settled, unpack, get gardengrocer in, etc. We won't have to pack up and leave.
There will be plenty of restaurant and bar options.

We've been to BLT twice since last year so going to BWVs will be a nice change (We've only stayed one night two years ago before a non-Disney cruise).

Glad it all worked out. You will have a great time--we stayed there last summer for a few nights and I love the BW view.

This summer, we are trying OKW for the first two nights instead because we went with a GV but after that , its off to BLT, my favorite place!!!
