I am wondering if I am able to add our DS(17) to our reservation for part of the trip? He will be a senior in HS next year and told me last night that he does not want to miss a week of school to go....(Gosh I can't believe how mature he is getting). So we talked about flying him down on a Wednesday evening, that way he will only miss 2 days of school and will be down there for the weekend.

Will Disney customize a package like this and allow him to use DME when he flies down?

Thank you.....

Trish

We've done separate flights for the one time we were using DME. It wasn't an issue at all (we were coming from different locations as well). The only thing that makes it hard to do is if you are doing DDP.

My DH came and left on different days than the rest of us and no problem using ME. We did not have a package, so I can't tell you about dining or tickets.

I think you would run into a problem is you are purchasing a package i.e. room and tickets and or dining plan.. then you would have to pay for him the whole time just like everyone else.. if you wanted him to have the same stuff.

1) As mentioned, DME is nor problem.
2) However, if on DDP, EVERYONE must have the same dates and tickets.
3) If you are not on DDP, no problem for him.

Are you going during free dining next September? If yes, there would be not additional cost for that. You would have to buy the same MYW ticket package, but there is not much difference between a 4 day ($257) and a 10 day ($270) park hopper, so you should be good to go. Another bonus may be the fact that if you are going during the free dining period, the way they load the dining credits, anyone in your party can use them, so you would be able to use his leftover credits to go a nicer TS meal and have more snacks covered...

I have the same situation where one of my kids will be heading off to college, but wants to join us for at least the weekend...

We are also doing this. My dad is coming on the 12th and leaving on the
14th whereas the rest of us will be there the 9th-15th. It was no problem....

Thank you all for your responses!! We are going to go next September and are hoping for free dining. I have no problem paying the minimal difference in cost for his park hopper pass, etc. to add him for the whole trip. I was just hoping that he would be able to use DME....that was my biggest concern.

Thank you to all that answered, I feel much better....of course it will be his first time flying alone and I will be a wreck that day until he arrives. :scared: I'm sure that he will be fine though, as we are going to book him a direct flight to Orlando and he has used DME before so it should not be a problem for a 17 year old. :)

Thank you....Trish
