After many months of not dieting or exercising I am really feeling awful!!!

I have made a New Year's Resolution to myself.................get my act together, drop 20-30 lbs. and EXERCISE!!!

Dh and I walked alot in the summer and early Fall and I felt GREAT!! October is when I stopped and now I am really feeling slumpy and have lack of energy. I have no excuse as I have a treadmill!!!

I need to get in the right frame of mind to begin!! I have written myself notes of what I will do and am re-arranging my schedule so that I can make time for MYSELF!!

I will be lurking around for advice. I just need to figure in the next few days which type of diet I will go on..................Atkins has worked in the past but I have always fallen off (usually due to a trip to WDW!!). It is the easiest for me..............I need to research others though and am open to suggestions!

I would love to lose the weight before my trip to WDW in April!!! I will be travelling on weekends between Jan and April and that is when I really have the hardest time staying on track!!!!

Thank you for listening to me and I thank you all in advance for your support!!!!

YOu can absolutely come back...none of us are perfect!

WELCOME BACK!

Welcome Rosemary, from your 'elf'! ;) Best WISHes on your journey!

Personally, I've been doing WW since January, and I'm very happy with the results, so far. I am a carb-loving woman, so I could never do Atkins, and probably not South Beach either. With WW points program, NOTHING is cheating as long as you count it! :D

And, forget lurking - - - - Keep on posting!!! :flower1:

I can sympathize with you. ::yes::

I've lost 40 pounds in the past year, but the last couple of months I've slacked off on watching what I eat and exercising too. Feel so guilty now! I am getting myself ready to "get back at it" starting tomorrow. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER when I am careful about my food (I'm type 2 diabetic so try to watch my carbs, but not totally cut them out) AND when I EXERCISE. It's too cold here now to walk outside, but I have the Walk Away the Pounds videos and really enjoy them. I'm looking forward to getting back on track and take 20 more pounds off by summer. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!

Welcome back. I haven't been back that long either and I am so happy that I am now. I just love the inspiration and encouragement I find everyday on this board. Post often and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Rosemary,
I'm from MA too. I lost 10 pounds doing a Nordic Track/free weight program at home, but my favorite exercise is running and now I'm trying to ease my way slowly back into it. I'm up to 20 minutes combining walking and jogging and hope to increase the time jogging in January. Of course it all depends on how the streets are in my subdivision! You're lucky to have a treadmill. I really need to get back into my weights this month too; hopefully on the days I don't jog.
Are you going to Disney on school vacation week? We are...can't wait. Now I can say we're going to Disney THIS YEAR!!!! :Pinkbounc

Hi AuroraluvsPhillip...........................yes, we are going in April. I can't wait!! We are driving and plan on stopping to visit friends that just moved to SC!!

I need to get back on the treadmill. I have been laid up the past few days with a stiff back (going to the chiropractor in the morning!). I know I can do it and lose the weight....I have done it in the past. I just need to get motivated!!!

Stay warm and careful jogging in the snow and ice!!!

PS I live north of Boston in Wakefield!
