Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a while because I "fell off the bandwagon" and haven't really been dieting the last month or so. But, I'm back on track and have lost 8lbs. since starting Atkins again the Monday after Easter. I have 22lbs. to go to reach my goal weight of 145. I'm trying to do this by the time we go to WDW for our big family reunion trip in August, because I don't want to be the "fat girl" in all of the trip photos. I need all the help and support I can get, as I don't like a lot of the foods allowed on either SB or Atkins, and I'm so tempted to cheat! I'm not a big meat or veggie eater, and the only fruits that I like are bananas and watermelons. Sooooo, can I come back for some help and encouragement, please???

Welcome back! I look forward to getting to know you. Have you tried this site: www.lowcarbfriends.com for recipes? They have just everything you can think of and I'm sure you'll be able to find low carb dishes that you like. There is nothing worse than being on a program with food you don't like that much. So try this Atkins site and see if you can find some yummy dishes that will help you reach your goal! We are all here to support you. :)

i just have to say b/c I am very much a blabbermouth but you say

and so I'm wondering if your eating plan is the best option for you??? I know there are many successes here on lots of different plans, but I really really think the key is finding one that works for you! One that doesn't seem like a diet but rather a lifestyle choice of healthy eating that you can LIVE with each and every day. I know the quick fix and quick loss is soooo tempting. Try to focus on the fact that you'll have more energy, sleep better, feel better, fit better in your clothes, etc.

have you read Dr. Phils book? I'm listening to it on CD and he addresses the mentality I was very guilty off. Anything to take the weight off as quick as I could and then resume my life. Well, unfortunately, that led to :yo-yo: weight for me and wasn't healthy either.

anyhow -- that may not be what you're looking for -- sorry I don't mean to offend. Your health is so very important! you are very worth it!!
 
THANKS EVERYONE! I have been reading Dr. Phil's book, and the Atkins book and the South Beach Diet book, and they're all starting to run together! lol, I like his approach though, it's not about dieting, it's about eating healthy and changing your life. DH and I are trying to do just that. I'm buying more fresh fruits and veggies instead of frozen or canned, and eating both low carb and low fat. It's working so far, I've lost 8 lbs. already. I also got into a pair of jeans today that didn't fit last week! That was a good feeling! I know you aren't supposed to combine programs, but for now I'm just trying to make myself eat healthier. Smaller portions and no starch or sugar.....I'm sure I'll be checking in more with you guys for some support, I think I'm gonna need it!

Welcome back! We were just talking at work today and someone told me that if I don't like what it is I am eating, I may be doomed to fail. I wish you luck in finding something that works for you and that you enjoy. Once we reach goal, the hard part begins...maintenance. I wish you success in finding what works as you seek your healthy life style.
