Can I change resorts now?

I made reservations for CSR in December using the BAT code. Last week I tried to call and change to PC, to save some money. The CM told me that I could not change resorts using the discount code because it's no longer being offered. Is that the way it usually works? My res is half paid for and I only wanted to change resorts. Should I call backand try with a different res. agent?

I'm not positive on this but...from the way I understand it the CM was correct as even though you are only switching resorts, in order for them to change the ressie they are actually cancelling your original ressie and now making a new one. Therefore, they cannot use the code because the computer is taking it as a whole new ressie as of today's date.

Now like I said, I'm not positive, but I think that is how it works.

The codes usually go by the hotel not the reservation. So it is possible there are no more code rates at the hotel you wish to switch too. You could try back but I don't think you would have any better luck since each hotel only gets so many code rates for rooms.

Yes, you are correct. If you made a reservation for December with a certain code and it expired (essentially due to the Jan-April codes being released), then you cannot change hotels as it is considered a new reservation. You can only change a room request within a particular hotel but if you want to change hotels, they need to cancel your CSR ressie and book a brand new one at POP but because the Dec. codes have expired you will have to pay ful rack rate. Hpe that helps!

We just added an extra night to our trip at the Wilderness Lodge and we got the discount.

So you might have a chance!

adding a night is different because you are not making a new
reservaion, so it is grandfathered in your original reservations

However, changing resorts is like starting new.
So if you change you lose your current discount.

you need to make the new ressie using a new/current code... so, rather than BAT, find out what the current code is for your dates (assuming there is one) and make the ressie w/that... the cms will not tell you this when you call... they typically offer very little savings information and you need to ask (be direct, don't be shy!) for discount codes available for your dates... of course, checking here, mousesavers, allearsnet, etc will help you know in advance

AP rates are still valid for December, but PC might be booked for your dates. I couldn't get it for 12/17. We're staying at a value resort on our first night because ATA changed our flights and now we're getting into MCO after 10:00 PM! No use checking into an expensive resort in the middle of the night when the luggage fairies will take our bags over to AKL for us the next morning .

Check all the websites that list codes...I think they still have fall getaway codes for the resorts that may not have expired....check at www.allearsnet.com or www.mousesavers.com also it never hurts to check expedia.com....I do know that, for instance, our check in dates are 1-28/2-4 and that my code for the rate I have now expires 12/1....but they may release new rates that I could still apply to my ressie (sometimes they have state codes based on where you're living for really slow times...December used to be slow but is getting more and more booked)...good luck and I hope you find another code!

I must chime in and say that just a couple days ago I was able to change 2 hotel rooms (!) from Pop to Movies for mid November and the CM was able to give me the same BAT code.

I was soo surprised that Movies was even available for my dates(b/c it wasn't back in August) and that I was even able to have the same BAT code rate. CM Chamberlin helped me.
