and transfer that money to the DVC membership? OF course, it would depend on rooms being available for the time I go, but I figure that it would make sense to buy into the club now, instead of going down there and then buying in?

any suggestions or advice gladly accepted...

We had reservations for June and cancelled last week to purchase DVC. We were able to get all money back AND make reservations at BWV and BCV. It made sense to us, and part of the money we would have used for the trip was used for our down payment. I must warn you, though, we are now planning another trip in December since we will have the points and have never seen WDW at Christmas.

great, really want to call now, but the offices are closed... sounds like the smart thing to do... can you borrow points from next year, or is there a time period you must wait....

I'm not sure that the offices are closed on the weekends. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the sales office is open on the weekends. It's member services that is closed on the weekends, but you wouldn't need them today anyway. You can call the sales office and have them send you the dream book (it can be delivered by FedEx). Once you get that (or before if you're really ready), you can tell your guide that you are ready and how many points you want. You give them a credit card number for your deposit and you will be entered into the system. You can call member services the next day to make your reservations using your points (or maybe even that afternoon). As for your other reservation, I was told that as long as we were more than 45 days out, we could cancel with no penalty. Hope this helps.

Sorry...I guess they are closed on Sundays. You can call at 9 tomorrow. FYI...points are selling for $98/point with an $8 rebate which can go toward downpayment. You receive all 2005 points. They will tell you Sep use year, but ask because there are others available (from personal experience). Bruce Douglas was our guide. His number is 800-827-0457. The great thing is that you can speak with his wife Patti when he is off because she works there too.

You can borrow points from next year, too. So if you have a Sep UY and are traveling in October, you can use 2005, 2006, and 2007 points for the trip (by banking and borrowing). For your July trip you can have two years available to you. Your guide can explain everything and these boards are wonderful, too. I have certainly learned a lot in the last three weeks as I have been investigating DVC. Good luck to you.
