I saw that UT has tickets on sale now, and I was wondering if I can buy them now for a trip in 2022? Also, with the variable rate, will that affect them as I don't know which dates we'll be going in 2022. Thanks for any insight!

I’m not sure where you’re looking, but I think you need to put in dates when you purchase them. If your dates change, then it may depend on who you bought them from. I think Disney will honor the ticket and just make you pay the difference if the new dates cost more.

Tickets are date based so anything you buy is going to be tied to those dates.

There is really no reason to buy now because when you go to use them, you’d have to get guest services to change them to the correct start date and if the cost is more, you’ll owe that.

I have not had luck buying tickets through ticket brokers and getting Disney to adjust via phone or through MDE. I have had to wait until I was there in person.

Thank you. That's what my thought was now that the price is variable, but I wanted to be sure that I wasn't missing something haha

Don't do it.

I have many old tickets in MDE and it is a pain that we can only upgrade them in person.

I just spent 1.5 hours on hold to try to get some help with expired dated tickets from Disney. Honestly, I didn't think much of letting them expire when I cancelled my trip last month, but I'm just sorry I ever bought them. After the 1.5 hour wait, they took my name and # and said someone would get back to me.

Generally speaking, I love Disney when we are there, but it's all this crap that frustrates me to no end.

Anyway, they just called me back (as I was in the middle of typing this) and took care of changing the dates. The only advantage I can see is that it looks like I should have paid more for my new dates, yet they didn't charge me. However, for us, we would like to upgrade to AP, so at that time we will only get what we paid for them anyway (if that ever happens).

I bought electronic tickets last year through my automobile club at a discounted rate. I had no problem getting the date changed over the phone using the ticket number.. I was even able to use the 2 day discount on the new dates. I paid a small amount more for the new dates. It was pretty painless.

If I buy a 4 day ticket for a 7 day reservation and it says you have 6 days to use but I only use 2 days and leave Disney. Does the ticket expire with the loss of the other 2 days?

My understanding is that yes, the remaining days would expire.
