Can i bring this on the plane?

It's a bottle cooler bag, i'm not sure what material is inside to make it cold:

Also, I am BF'ing, but i do give my child whole milk sometimes. Would it be ok to bring a bottle of whole milk in that bag and call it breastmilk? What do you think?

I don't think its a good idea to mislead airport inspectors--don't want to get delayed or worse. Could you just bring expressed breastmilk if you need to pack something? There may be places (past initial security scan) that you can buy drinks to carry on plane. In Detroit & Orlando, after going through security, there are shops that sell water and other drinks that you can bring on plane no questions asked.

TSA allows you to bring a bottle of milk (breast or cows) through security for a child under 3. Unless you are planning on not using the bottle for quite a few hours, I don't think you'll need to bring the cooler as a carry-on.

I don't pump anymore and it would take several pumping sessions to get enough for 1 bottle. If they sell whole milk in the airport I have no problem bringing an empty bottle and buying some at the airport, I was just worried i might only find low fat milk. I don't like for milk to sit around and get warm.
I was hoping to use the cooler at the park too, if our hotel has a fridge/freezer (<--not sure).

I don't think it would be a problem. My mother brought a cooler of meat packed with ice and frozen ice things as carry on to fly to Florida and had no problems. I don't think they are worried about a cooler adn probably won't even know that it is a cooler and not just a bag. Just amke sure when they ask if you have anything to declare, you bring out the bag and let them look through it and not worry.

I would not fly without a cooler for bottles of milk, even if it should only be a few hours, you never know what will happen and you may need it past that time and you don't want it spoiled.

If you are staying on Disney property, they will give you a fridge to use in the room if you ask.

Oh my goodness, you don't need to tell the airport security what kind of milk your bringing. You can bring juice if you want to. I've flown many times in many airports with my now 17 month old, and they are completely easy going, very helpful and I've never had or heard of a problem trying to fly with any kind of liquid for a baby. As far as the cooler is concerned, you'd probably have to find the tsa website to be sure. I'm guessing it depends with what it's made of, however I've never needed to use one on my flights. I usually plan to use the bottle of milk/formula/breast milk within the first hour of the flight, and then use a couple of bottles of juice until we arrive. I am planning to take one for the parks for my trip as well, but I'll be checking it with the rest of my luggage.

I took blue ice packs and sent them through on the pockets of the checked luggage, I had to throw out the water bottle, but I was able to take the sandwich, and powder drink to mix, bought water after security. When I got on board I asked if they could fill a zip loc with two cups of ice. That took care of everthing until we got to the hotel and then I had a larger softsider cooler that was checked and I had ziplocs for hotel ice.
Last trip we had a fridge though.

Has anyone taking the frozen blue ice packs thru security in your carry on luggage? I wanted to bring fruit along for the kids and thought it may do better with an ice pack. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

I was told no gel......that is why I had to send it through the checked bags along with our lighters at that time.
Could you freeze an Apple juice little carton? Ask for ice on board or at the shop?

You will be fine with that bag. I just flew in May and that is the bag I used on the airplane. I had it filled with 3 bags of breastmilk. I was never given any trouble.

That is fine :)

Per the TSA:
"Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint. Click here to learn more about 3-1-1

All items including formula, breast milk, and juice will be inspected, however, you or your infant or toddler will not be asked to test or taste breast milk, formula, or juice. Our Security Officers may test liquid exemptions (exempt items more than 3 ounces) for explosives."

Here is the link to the TSA page on traveling with children:

And traveling in general:

I recommend checking the TSA website prior to flying for any changes and so your prepared for the screening.

No - it's considered a gel. Instead use frozen grapes or carrots, they keep the other food cold and then make a great treat when they thaw.

I have a small freezer bag just like that and was able to bring it through security. TSA took a long look at it as I guess the cold showed up on the x-ray screen. The agent told me that I was lucky that he wasn't taking it away, but when I told him that it did not use gel/liquid to keep it cold, he said it was okay.

Will I have a problem bring 1-2 juice boxes of whole milk? If not will they let me bring an insulator bag with 1 small zip lock of ice cubes since I will have to keep the milk cold (we have to be at the airport 3 hours early to fix our seats that delta messed up) and I want the milk for the airport and flight.

Will they let me bring a juice box too?

I took a soft-sided insulated bag (like a kid's lunch box) with milk and juice for DD. I used the blue ice paks in it, and never once did anyone say anything to me. I declared it, they yelled "baby stuff coming through!" and that was the end of it. I've been through security 6 times this way, and nobody ever said a word about the ice pak :confused3 I honestly never thought about it not being allowed

You can use the ice packs only if you have a prescription medication that needs to be cold or you have an infant with you needing milk/juice. We just got back on Friday and both ways I was able to take 2 bottles of water and baby food. I am nursing but I threw in packs of formula (for the cereal) and a bottle in a soft sided cooler. No one questioned anything. They started to say something leaving Ft. Lauderdale but the other guy said it was fine because of the baby.

Yes, that should be fine - but if its easier you can also purchase milk and juice after security.

Thanks for the info/link.

When my kids were 4 and 5, I didn't even try to bring the smallest juice box I could find (4oz). I wonder how strict they are on "baby" items. Though it probably would have gone through fine. Last year, I was concerned about a 4oz bottle of children's liquid Tylenol. I just put it in the quart size ziploc with other things and no one said anything.

The site doesnt really specify age of the baby items. They say milk/juice for a baby or toddler is okay. In my child development studies, i've always thought of toddler as just learning to walk and 2 and under. I think someone on DIS said milk/juice is okay for 3 and under. May want to be prepared to have it dumped if you're traveling with an older-than-toddler child.
