Can I bring milk through security at the airport?

I just flew with my 18 month old and had 3 8 oz bottles of milk with me and no problem at JFK in NY or MCO, they did open it and test it but that was it.

We had a similar experience in Dulles and Houston - you should be fine. The doctors note certainly can't hurt, though. I know some PPs were suggesting to limit what you bring, but honestly - I'd overestimate. Flights get delayed and cancelled all the time. 10 hours can pretty easily turn into 14 or more, and being on a plane with a toddler who doesn't have their usual comfort food or drink is a very unpleasant experience for all involved (as me how I know... :scared1:)

My son has a dairy allergy as well. He drinks rice milk. I usually buy it in juice box sized container for travel. I'm planning on getting a note from his dr. stating his allergies and that it's medically necessary to have it. We have an early flight, so I was planning on getting my kids some cereal to eat once we get through security.

I know my grocery store sells the "juice box" size cartons in the organic/gluten free/specialty area. IF you get that size and declare it, I think you will be fine.

I researched it, emailed them yadda yadda and everything said I couldn't bring it. I brought it anyway, declared it immediately (this is required) and they gave me no grief and did not open the cartons. Again, they were 6 oz or smaller and I had about three of them with me.

I went through Phila and Orlando with no trouble.
