Can I bring it in on budget ?

So needing a bit of Pixie Dust, wanting to escape for a week and sorely tempted by the offers Disney is throwing about.. (just got a pin for a $500 gift card!!) I priced some stuff up for a week's solo trip. But hotel and ticket cost alone would still mean at least $ 850 .. Which I just haven't got.

On the other hand if I :
- used frequent flyer miles: Amsterdam to Orlando $ 130
- used DVC points: $ 0
- need 1 night hotel due to travel times: $ 100
- used tickets I still have: $ 0
- took the Disney Gift Card I have with $ 130 still left on it and used that for spending money
- only ate at counter service $ 25@ day for 6 days: $ 150

I should be able to do a saturday to friday trip for $ 500 or less if I behave myself!
Do you think it's realistic or will I go overboard and regret it when I'm home again

Or should I just suck it up and wait till I can go with DH and enjoy ourselves. Which won't be this year as he's all Disney'ed out.

If you could go and totally enjoy it I would say go for it. If however, on the other hand you're constantly worry about the cost of everything I would say wait and go a bit later in the year. I'm not sure I would want to waste my DVC points if I was going to be half enjoying the trip.

What about a trip to DLRP???

DLRP would cost a lot more, I've priced that up and it would be € 390 for a three days/ 2 nights for just the hotel and tickets!!

Aruna, I totally understand your dilemma (and desire) but I think unless you know 100% that you will be able to stick to your budget, I would wait and go with DH when the finances are a bit easier. I know the lure of a $500 gift card is great but would your DH honestly not mind if you went without him? Great price on flights, by the way - wish we could get some prices like that here

Joh, this is without the gift card as I can do it cheaper with DVC.

Sign up for a frequent flyer programme! it's free and does bring rewards after a while.

I told DH about the mail with the gift card and the first thing he said was "when are you going then?" According to him me going to WDW for a week makes us both happy

All I would say is what I say to myself "Disney isnt going anywhere" as I want to go all the time - no where else comes up close!

maybe it is just what you need now
sometimes we just need to get away and chill out
as you said DH is disneyed out at the moment so maybe somewhere else with him later on in the year

if i could do the flight on my own i would go for it, if you can manage on the amounts you say then go for it. You only live once so why not

If I could go on my own I would! I'd feel a bit bad leaving children at home lol. I can't wait until I can take the kids, but I can't wait until they're older and I can go on my own too!
