Hello

My friend would like a sit n stand stroller. They are not sold in England (she doesn't want the buggy-board). I know they are sold in America and push-chairs and car seats are so much cheaper there than in England.

The problem is, would I be able to get it home? I am going in March for a week, I do not have any children. I know when we are sitting at the gate the ask for any strollers to be bought to the gate, so would I be able to do this, even though I don't have a child? What about the car seat?

Thanks in advance for any help or advise

Nicola

The only thing I would say is check the safety standards of the particular car seat as there are different regulations here to the US, even though many of the brands are the same.

We have done this on the reverse side. My parents brought me a Maclaren Stroller from England to the USA. They didn't travel with any kids and they just checked it in the box as a piece of luggage.

I would check with your airline first.

Also, is the cost expensive of the item, just concerned if you end up with Customs problems on the way back.

we brought back a travel cot last october- we were told as long as its in the original box then its fine, it goes on with your luggage but is not included in your luggage allowance- this was VA
My sis has brought home a high chair, car seat, baby walker, etc no probs

not at all. you can bring it back on top of your luggage allowance, so we had 32kg each + what ever you buy, i should of bought more!! you can bring 1 item each extra back. we seen a couple who had a pushchair in its box at dtd check in and i asked the virgin staff there whether it was included in luggage allowance and they said no, you can bring one piece back each!
