Can I book LESS than three fastpasses in advance?

Ah, great - thank you. The "set" part is key. I know it's not part of policy, and I really do love the new FP+ system, but I'm an example of someone who would benefit from booking FPs for multiple parks!

I usually do not plan out a full trip to WDW and have days with no plans whatsoever. I have gotten a bus to Epcot only to change my mind and then hop right on the monorail to MK. With FP+, I may not have as many of these days, but if I am staying for at least 4 days, I should be able to do this for at least a day.

For your 1 day/4 park trip, you really should be able to get most of this done, but depending on which day you are going might make a difference. You said you were going next month, does that mean the end of April or the beginning? If you are going between April 1-11, then you are likely going to have a harder problem getting your all of your attractions done, but if you are going later in the month, you have a better shot. I know I could do all of the attractions you had listed in 1 day during times when the crowd levels were moderate. Depending on the time you go would make me difference on what I would FP and the order I would try to do the attractions.

We're going the last Saturday in April. I know that it's a Saturday, and being that DH and I usually plan our trips when crowds are the lowest, we'll have to expect that more people will be there. DH and I are attending a wedding that is 10 minutes away from WDW, and thought the wedding was a good excuse to pop into the parks for a day. We know that it's likely we won't be able to do everything on our list, but the agenda is to just enjoy being at Disney. It also helps that we've been to Disney a bunch, and have family nearby, so it won't be the last time we'll visit.

Have you considered the single rider lines for Everest and Test Track? These work well. The RNRC single rider line is not always helpful.

This is SO confusing! I haven't used the new FP+ system yet, but I'm an extreme park hopper, and I can't seem to wrap my head around this nonsense of having to book 3 or none at all! Grrrr...

What if I just want to ride Test Track and Soarin' and head out of the park by 10 latest? I can only get a FP for one and ride standby the other... but I also have to book 2 bogus FP+ that I won't be using and now my time is tied up.

I book a FP+ for Test Track for 9-10 a.m.
And now I'm FORCED to book 2 bogus ones let's say for 10-11 and 11-12 that I have absolutely no plans to use whatsoever.

I've left Epcot at 10 and now I'm at Magic Kingdom and stuck waiting until after 12 before I can book a fast pass there? Really??

There is a workaround.

Book, in advance, three FP+.
Then, that day at the park, BEFORE you use any of them…
CANCEL the two FP+ that you don't want to use.
You can do that on your smart phone or at a FP+ kiosk.

Then, after you ride the attraction that you DO want,
you will immediately be able to book a "4th FP" at that first park at a FP+ kiosk...
OR immediately upon entering the second park, at a FP+ kiosk.

Well that would certainly work then. Can you only cancel same day? Really surprised that Disney doesn't make you cancel ALL 3 since they force you to book 3 whether you want to or not!

1. Don't mess with the "workaround formula."
(The problem with canceling ahead of the day-of is that you can't get them back if your plans change.)

2. You can make the first three FP+ reservations and make changes via the the app, and the website, and the kiosks.
You CAN cancel any of the first three FP+ via the app, the website, or the kiosks.
But, ONLY at a kiosk can you RESERVE additional (4th, 5th, etc.) FP+ the day-of.
Once that 4th (or 5th, etc.) FP+ is reserved, it can be manipulated (changed) via the app, the website, or the kiosks.

We're going the last Saturday in April.

This actually works well as it might be busy, but it will not be spring break crowds. I know I have gone in early May with similar crowd levels. Looking at this, http://www.easywdw.com/april15-v6.jpg, normal opening times are 9 am, DHS has an 8 am EMH, and MK closes at midnight with a 10 pm Wishes.

I went back and looked at your list.

AK - I would try to be there at least 20 minutes before RD. Then I would suggest going in one of these orders: Dinosaur, EE, Safari or Safari, EE, Dinosaur. You should be able to do all there in about 1-2 hours, especially if you do SR line for EE. (I once did in this order Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Triceratops Spin, EE (regular line), and Safari in under 2 hours.)

DHS - Since DHS has EMH that morning, they may be a bit busier in earlier part of the day. I would head straight for ToT, but try and see what the waits are for RnR. After ToT, if the regular wait for RnR is less than 30 minutes, I say go for it. You can also try SR line, but make sure it is actually moving. I once waited 10 minutes and did not move more than 3 feet. After this, you should easily be able to do GMR.

Epcot - I would make 2 FP+ choices for before that, but not plan to use them. I would plan a FP for Soarin for 4-5 pm or later. This way, but the time you are done at Soarin, you could try for additional FP+. If you get to Epcot early enough before your Soarin FP, you might be able to get in a ride on Test Track or Spaceship Earth. If you do not have time, before Soarin, after Soarin, I would stop at Spaceship Earth and then head to Test Track to see what the wait is. If you do SR line, you might be even quicker. [You could also plan a FP for Spaceship Earth for after

MK: As soon as you get there, check to see if the kiosk has any FP available for the attractions you want to do. If you catch the 9 pm MSEP and the 10 pm Wishes, you probably would have time to do HM, Space, and pirates after. Many people will probably leave after the fireworks.

DH and I are having a "whatever happens, happens" four-park day, and there's nothing we'll be upset if we don't see again. Having said that, Test Track is our favorite, and last time we were there (September 2014) it usually had pretty long wait times. Also, the other FPs for Epcot look pretty...unnecessary. So that's the method to the madness. Also when we go to MK after Epcot, we were hoping to get FPs via the kiosk, but it looks like we'll have to use up our 3 planned FPs to do that.

If anyone wants to give their two cents on our plan, here's what we've got:

- Whatever else we can! We'll end here so we can watch the fireworks, but we've been to this park the most, and we know that we'll be back again in a few years, at the very latest. So nothing will bum us out if we don't see it.

>> Day one. Follow plan of previous poster. RD AK and ride Safari, EE, Safari, Dinosaur, Kali (gets wet). Perhaps eat lunch at Flame Tree BBQ somewhere in the middle. DO this all without FP+. You will likely leave around 2-3 PM for your next park. I would choose DHS and have FP+ for all your three rides starting around 4:00-4:30. I would try and watch Fantasmic that night if playing (Perhaps make this a day that Fantasmic is playing.) I would also recommend an ADR for 50's prime time dinner or another restaurant (due to slightly underwhelming counter service food in DHS).

>> Day two Rope Drop Epcot and do SOARIN and then TT and then Space Ship Earth without using your FP+. Hop over to DHS for three FP+ rides of your choice starting about NOON. Use the app to move up your FP+ after you have boarded the ride... Return to Epcot for Dinner and Illuminations.


>> Day three Rope Drop MK with FP+ for Space and Pirates (starting about 2 hours after rope drop) Ride pirates and as many other rides as possible before your FP+ reservations. Continually move FP+ times as you enter the ride for your current FP+ reservation. Eat lunch and dinner and enjoy MSEP and Fireworks.

You can cancel individual fast passes immediately after you make them.. even 60 days in advance if you'd like.
