Can I book FP+ ahead if I have room only with a package starting later?

We are planning and have booked coming in on Saturday Nov 26 which is when our free dining package starts but depending on Southwest flights I am thinking about arriving on either Thur 24th or Fri 25th with a room only. I have read that I can get my tickets early is this still correct?
But will any of this effect me booking my FP+ at the 60 day window? With it being Thanksgiving weekend I would really like to have them booked at 60 days for that Thurs and Fri.
Thanks!

Yes. You will have to activate your package tickets on-site and will not be able to book FP for 24th or 25th on those tickets.

Agreed.
In advance of arrival, that is.
Upon arrival and activation of the tickets, at THAT time, you can book FP+ for the 24th and 25th.

Not even at 30 days. Not until you actually go to Guest Services and have your tickets separated from your package. Only then can you book FPs for those two days.

ok thanks for the info. That sucks though. lol. Staying on site those two extra nights I was thinking would at least give me the ability to book the FP if not 60 days then at least 30 days ahead. I am bummed now and not sure it's worth it but at least I found out before changing any plans though so thanks again.

Yup.
For others reading along…

Unless there is a NEED to buy "Package Tickets" (like for "free dining") it is much better and more flexible (and CHEAPER) to order
all of your tickets from a WDW authorized ticket reseller (like Undercovertourist.com or Parksavers.com) and NOT FROM DISNEY.
Even if you order "stand-alone" tickets from Disney,
those tickets will NOT be "price-bridged" if you want to upgrade them, if there is a ticket price increase before your trip.

Yes, I'm saying do not buy your tickets directly from Disney.
And, it's DISNEY'S OWN RULES that make it better to buy from an authorized third party!

I just want to confirm: We have a Room-Only reservation (used the RO discount), but we DO have our tickets, and they are linked to MDE. We'll be able to book FP+ 60 days in advance, right? Despite not purchasing our tickets direct from Disney...

Correct.

AND, if you decide you can arrive a couple of days earlier, you can book those days 30 days in advance of each day.
(That's just one reason why it's better to buy from an authorized third party ticket reseller.)

Unless you NEED to have your tickets as part of a resort package (like for "Free" Dining,)
you COULD just CANCEL your resort package tickets (it's still very early before your trip)
and ORDER your tickets from an authorized ticket reseller (like Undercovertourist.comor Parksavers.com)
and then you CAN book your FP+ at 60-days (and 30-days) before your trip dates.
