Can I book an onsite hotel without park tickets included?

Can anyone tell me if it is it possible to book onsite hotels without park tickets included. I ask this because we're going in October and have decided to buy annual passes as were going there again next May.

I have phoned disney and asked but got told that I can only book without park tickets if I've already got my annual pass.

This seems to have been the case for quite a few people on the board which is why its worth looking at some of the off site hotels (eg Explorers, Holiday Inn etc).
You could look on Expedia as sometimes they have room only deals

i managed to book a room only for 4 people and im the only one with an annual pass. but then i guess thats still the same principle right. i didnt book park tickets at the same time tho for the others. i just booked the room with my AP discount.

Might be worth trying again to get a CM who is more comfortable with room only bookings

I couldn't get room only via disney without already having an annual pass and expedia didn't have the dates I wanted.

I decided to try expedia one more time and this time they had the dates and hotel that I wanted available. So I'm now booked and going in about 5 weeks time.

Now I'm hoping that it's not to hard to buy annual passes when I get there.

We got our annual passes on monday, was really easy to do. We purchased them from the Guest relations desk which is to the right of the entrace to MK they issue you with a temp pass and then you head to Annual Passport office and they give you your permanet one with your picture on. It took about 5 minutes and then off you go...
