Can I book ADR if I haven't booked a resort yet?

Can't find the answer to this question......We have definite dates on going to WDW in May but I'm not sure yet which resort we want to book (am waiting until January to know how much $$ I can dedicate to the trip and also waiting for discounts). Wondering if it is possible to make ADRs without actually having a resort booked. I know in the past when I have booked ADRs the CM would ask which resort we were staying, however; can I simply reply "not sure yet"? Thanks for any info.

Yes you can! ADRs are available to anyone who visits Disney World whether they stay at a Disney Resort or not. Happy planning!

but if you want to book at the 180 day mark it is for resort guests only. 90 days for everyone else.

I don't see why not-

Especially now that you can book 180 days in advance.

You could change hotels 10 times before you arrive!

It is 180 days for people staying offsite as well,not 90 days!!!

If you are staying onsite and have a reservation number you may call at 180 days from your arrival and book ADRs for the first 10 days of your stay. If you are NOT staying onsite or if you do not have hotel reservations then you may call at 180 days from your arrival and book for one day only. You will still have to call back each consecutive day because only onsite guests are eligible to book ADRs for length of stay at 180 days out.

In this instance the OP is closer than 180 days no matter what because ADRs for the end of May opened at the end of November. That means ADRs for any time in the entire month of May are currently available for everyone - on site, off site, locals, whatever. People are calling now for ADRs in June.

This wouldn't be a lie!!! Besides that, it seems each of us wants to stay at a different resort!! DS 10 @ CSR, DS 14 at AKL and I want to try the Beach Club! It WILL be the BC if I get my way (and enough $$$!!).
