Can I be club and not realize it?

I will be staying at PBH in a Villa Suite next month. Is that a club room? I had booked a deluxe room and was upgraded to the VS--does that mean I am club? I got to wondering after reading the posts by thedisneymom live from PBH. She is in a Villa Suite and seems like she is club.

From my experiences, villa suites don't include club access unless you are paying for a club room. If you book a club deluxe room and also a villa parlor you have club access. If you book a deluxe room and the villa parlor you don't. In your case you booked a deluxe room and were upgraded to a villa parlor so you wouldn't have club access. This is what I have been told in the past at PBH but it certainly couldn't hurt to give them a call and ask. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That was exactly what they said to me RyGuy when I had the villa suite. PBH is not like the other two hotels as far as club. It's not just on aone floor. You can have a room anywhere and still have club. They try & keep all the club people in the villa wing but it's not always the case.
They did offer me club at an extra $80.00 per night if I wanted it.

Does your room key get you access to the Club Lounge? Do you need a separate key card? How do they monitor access?

You need a key to get in the club lounge. I have had my room key work with it but the last time when my suite was in the East Wing I had a separate key for the club lounge.
I saw so many people just sneak in when other people opened the door. This is why I like RPR & HRH's club better. Staff didn't either notice or care.

Hi Christine, we were at PBH 3/2004 and were "upgraded" to PBH Club floor without club access. So even though we were on the club floor, we couldn't go into the club. We thought they **had** to be kidding, and tried our keys in the Club Lounge just to check, and nope, they were right! We sure didn't have access! Some upgrade.

There really is no club floor per say at PBH. You can book a villa room without having club. You can also book club and not end up being anywhere near the Club lounge, especially if you book a kids suite.
I'm sure they try & keep everyone close to the club lounge that books club.

For the most part they do try and keep the people staying club near the lounge. The club rooms are supposed to be on the 5th and 6th floor of the villa wing which if you have stayed there you know how long and winding the villa wing is. The rooms in the villa wing right above the lobby are the most convenient rooms to the lounge and have bay views. That is where the high end suites are as well.

Good to know! Of course that means that the ding bat who checked us in didn't know either, since she specifically told us we were on a Club Floor (and made a huge deal out of it).

Just to clearify. I know where the club floor is supposed to be, probably better then the staff at PBH. The last two times and the final time I booked club at PBH we were stuck in the East wing.

We had a kid's suite the first time, the second time we had an executive suite. She said they TRY and keep everyone that books club in the villa area but can't always do it.
My GF that went at the same time as me had booked club the week before Christmas and she ended up with a standard room in the East wing, because they were out of deluxe rooms when she checked in. @@

Does it say that you get a deluxe or villa room if you book a club room? I wasn't sure because we usually get suites. I told her to complain but because we were also in the East wing, she didn't.

I didn't really care because I will never book club at PBH again ayway.

Oh, I have no idea what the room #'s were but they overlooked the bay, the kid's suite was very close to the Hillside pool.

If you book club at PBH you are supposed to recieve a deluxe room. I was only interested in the room numbers if you were in a deluxe room. I'm pretty sure there are none in the east wing.

The villa suite does not include club. I had 2 deluxe club rooms booked and was upgraded with our platinum cards to a villa suite. we had separate cards to access club. They were checking those and room keys which have plus signs to denote club members. they said access keys are not accepted alone anymore.BTW the fried raviolis made club worth it.

I was referring to the Gov. and Pres. suites when I said high end.
