Don't link the two things in your mind. They aren't at all related.
Can you bank all your current year's points? Yes.
Can you accept a transfer of current year points? Yes.
Can you bank the transferred points into next UY once they are in your membership? Yes.
Can you use current transfer points plus some of your own forward banked points in this current use year? No. But you could borrow some of next year's points into the current year if you needed.
Bottom line, there is never a good reason to bank your points too early, since you cannot reverse the transaction. As long as you stay on top of your four month window, wait until the week before to bank, just in case a use for current year points arises.
But the transfer in has nothing to do with the points in your account, beyond the fact you can combine them for a reservation (7 months anywhere, 11 months if same home resort.)
