Hi,

I have booked a surprise stay at the DLH in March for my DH and my DS, but have told them weare booked in at the Cheyanne!:woohoo:

Anyhow, we are arriving by Eurostar and I plan to let them watch a dvd, which I am going to make, to tell them about the surprise while we are on Eurostar :thumbsup2

But the main thing I want to ask is, can we walk round the side to where it says Disneyland Hotel car park and go in through the entrance there or do we have to go through bag check and then into the hotel through the entrance on the right hand side?

I just can't be doing with opening all the cases and hand luggage and having security go through all my neatly ironed and packed clothes:headache:

Disney Express is pointless as I dont' see the point in paying out for that when the hotel is right around the corner.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:thumbsup2

Thanks

Karina

When we went last month, on our last day we wanted to put our cases in Guest Services. We were directed to one side where they had an x-ray machine to put our luggage through so the Security didn't have to rummage through all our (now dirty) clothing. :thumbsup2

They didn't have this in October when we stayed at the DLH though, but then our dirty clothing was only on the out journey, it was all neat on the way in - they didn't rummage too much though.

To your main question - I don't think it is easy to get from the station to the DLH car park.

When we went in December, we took our suitcases and were told to put them on the table (where they were checking people's rucksacks etc). I was abit miffed as we had to hunt out the suitcase keys and then open them both infront of everyone in the queue!

All of a sudden a security type bloke came bounding over and seemed to tell off the guy searching our cases. The security bloke grabbed our cases and marched off a little bit further towards the DLH and there was a little tent with an xray machine in. The only thing the x-ray lady asked us about was the 2 bottles of wine that popped up on screen!

Just to confirm - we were in the DLH last week and the security staff ushered us to one side and through an airport style baggage scanner :thumbsup2

Cool - that will make my life easier if we can do that.

Do you have to show anything to prove you're staying @ dlh?

No, at Christmas we weren't staying there. I think just having a big suitcase is enough!

Can't thank you all enough for all the speedy replies:thumbsup2

Now I don't mind if the luggage goes through a scanner, didn't want anyone going through my smalls:rotfl:

Can't wait now, got a really good price for 3 nights/ 4 days using the 50% discount that Dream Annual passholders are getting, so thought why not indulge:woohoo:

We normally go to WDW once/twice a year but we are trying for our 2nd baby so can't book anything in advance really as I wouldn't want to fly when pregnant and I wouldn't enjoy myself knowing I can't go on any of the big rides, not just at Disney but Seaworld and Universal too. So, DLRP is where we are going for the timebeing so we can all get our Disney fix:thumbsup2

Right - my turn to worry about this now...

So I jsut go to the regular bag check?

Where is the scanner?

It is on the right, after you go through the initial bag check area - but the Security people will direct you there.
