Can I ask for the check early in the meal?

In September we will be doing the DxDP with an almost one and almost four year old. Since there are sometimes end of the meal meltdowns and we will need to leave quickly (or at least the baby and I will) can I ask for the check towards the beginning of the meal if we are not ordering anything OOP? Thanks!

Yep I did it at 1900 Park Fare because the place was packed. I told the waitress, who was awesome BTW, that if she wanted to go ahead and bring the check we could get it out of the way. It wasn't a problem.

this is great to know! thanks for the info! This is something I would definitely take advantage of. I have a dd4 and ds 6, and they just get so bored eating in a restaurant. when they get bored, they get antsy, and then it is no fun for anyone in the restaurant!

I love this idea! The worst part of a TS meal at Disney is sitting and waiting for the check. It always seems to take forever! Does it matter what you order if you are on the DDP and ask for the check early? Or do we have to order our entree's, apps, desserts and drinks all at once before they can bring the bill?

if it's an al la carte restaurant, you will have to order everything all at once to get a bill early. They can't bring you an early bill if they don't know what you are ordering.:)

We've done this a lot (and in fact I recommend it frequently) however - we've only done it at buffets (character meals!). We ask for it when the waitress is taking the drink order and "settle" it (dining plan) as soon as she brings it. Then we can leave as soon as the last character has come by - it's a great system.

I assume then that there is no problem ordering everything at once so that you can pay early and there is very little lag time between dinner and dessert? I also will be traveling with a toddler and this would likely make for a much nicer experience for our family.
