Can I ask about experiences with certain resale agencies on this board?

You commonly see (and I have to agree) about people here posting about good experiences with TTS.

We have had two excellent experiences with the Timeshare Store. They are very professional and have the procedure down to a science. We worked with Jason.

Can I ask about experiences with certain resale agencies on this board?

I don't know why this would be an inappropriate topic. There are multiple threads where people discuss resellers. If you're asking about level of service, etc...
I am in the middle of working with Fidelity. So far so good. They have far and away the most listings, so that helped. I called for two weeks about different contracts, different resorts, lots of questions....lots of back and forth. They never tired of my questions, she even joked and said "I'm happy to be your sounding board!"
We made an offer, and I received 2 phone calls during the wait to keep me apprised. When the offer was accepted, the contracts were sent out within a day. Everything happened over about 4 days, the offer was made on a Monday morning and by thursday afternoon it was sent to Disney for ROFR.

I had some questions in the interim, and called just the other day. All the questions were happily answered, no "you're already committed so we're moving on to the next customers" type of attitude.

I also had spoken to the two other big resellers, DVC by Resale, TTS, and found their service to be great as well. With me it just came down to Fidelity having the right contract.

Of course things could still go wrong, but so far I would have to give them a big thumbs up.

My situation is almost the exact same as the previous poster's and we are working with fidelity as well. They've been a pleasure. Just hoping to pass ROFR!!!!

My experience is the opposite! I made an offer on a contract last week Tuesday by Thursday afternoon did not hear a word. I called the agent and said it is either yes, no or counter offer what is going on? Her reply "they want to sell it is a divorce situation and they owe more on the contract then what they will get so they are arguing about who will pay the balance". Ok I am done with that contract lets move on. (I gave the sellers until 4:00 on that day to answer my offer they never did). I then put an offer in on another contract at 4:15 with Fidelty and asked if the sellers were all set to go. The reply I got was yes they except the offer and are very eager and ready to go. I filled out all the paper work last Friday and faxed it over with the deposit. I confirmed they received it. I have called 3 times and e-mailed the agent AND contract department asking if seller has sent their paper work in and to let me know when it goes to ROFR I still have not heard a word and I am getting frustrated!!!

I bought and sold contracts (1 each) through TSS and always got an answer within 24 hours of a call or e-mail. Not sure what to do at this point????

We are working on our third resale contract now. The first was with ********** and things went very smoothly. The second was with TSS and they were great as well. Our third one (currently in ROFR) was with Fidelity.

Considering the 3/20 firesale, they were swamped and I had to call and hold to talk to someone (email and voicemail weren't working for me), but once I got someone things were fine. When we finally made an offer on a contract, they kept me up to date with the sellers' response (the sellers were unreachable on a Friday and we had to wait until Monday - just agony!), the paperwork arrived very quickly and we went to ROFR by that same Thursday. We are in the ROFR process now (more agony!), and so I can't state that the closing went smoothly (yet, hopefully!):wizard:, but thus far it's going well.

I am currently using Fidelity. Overall, they've been fine. It's taken longer to get everything done than with my first contract purchase, but with how busy things have been since the 3/20 announcement I'm not surprised. Also, they said Disney sent over an incorrect form after ROFR and it had to be requested twice which caused a delay.

We used TTS with our first resale purchase and would have happily used them again if the right contract had come along.

As long as I'm on the "can I ask" thread.....does anyone know why 1 of the "big 4" resale companies gets ****'d out on here? I typically read good reviews about them, but always wonder if there's something questionable that allows them not to be mentioned on here.

I finally reached the contract dept at Fidelty, she was very nice. I totally realize they are swamped but I just wanted to know the status. Well I am more frustrated because the sellers have not sent in their paper work, apparently everything was mailed to them and now they are waiting for it to be snail mailed back. Come on folks fax machines are wonderful tools! lol The contract person said they had 30 days to get the paper work back but the contract says "buyer and seller have until 3/11/11 to execute the sale or otherwise the buyer can request a full refund. I really do not want to do that so I hope they have it no later then Monday. There are 130 2009 points which are banked that I am eager to see what I can do with and banking deadline for 2010 points is May 31.

Oh well hang on tight at least until Monday. Good luck everyone waiting ROFR it is truly the longest 30 days ever!!!!

I am wondering the same thing as GoofItUp. I am new to the boards and learning a lot, but don't understand this either. I am using **** at *********, as they had the specific contract I wanted. Everything has been very smooth and they are fantastic to work with! I also would have worked with TSS as they were great and very informative, but just couldn't find what I was looking for.......well, I did find one but it was scooped up quickly. Any clarification would be appreciated!

I have worked with Rachel at Fidelity, Jerry at TTS, and **** at **********. Have had wonderful experiences with all of them, and wouldn't hesitate to buy from any of them again. All are reputable companies, but what generally tends to give them a "bad name" is peoples' lack of understanding about the overall process and how much of the experience is based on the broker's communication and the seller. Just like any other business, some agents are better than others with communications, and a buyer's experience is almost completely in the hands of the seller. If the seller doesn't return paper work in a timely manner, pulls out of the deal, etc., it looks bad on the broker, and it's really not the broker's fault.

No matter who you work with, I'd ask to be notified on these milestones:
1) When the seller sends in his/her paperwork
2) When the contract goes off to Dis for ROFR
3) If/when the broker is notified ROFR has been waived
4) When all closing paperwork has been returned and when the contract will close.

Between step 3 and 4, you will receive your closing docs to sign and return with a check. As long as you understand the process, it's the same for pretty much every broker (docs may look a little different), but follows the same logical order. And, if you communicate your expectations with the broker, they should know what you're looking for in terms of communicatons. The seller, on the other hand, is the true wild card in the whole process. Most buyer's are pretty motivated, so they return things quickly (especially with the 3/20 date looming).

Best of luck! :thumbsup2

Mr. Dick VanDxxx aka Bert gets *****'d out here too and I don't believe there's anything questionable other than his name. ;) It's a private board with paying advertisers. I'd just chalk it up to that.

Just got a voice message from Rachel, and I did not realize that the sellers DO have to get paper work notorized now???? When we bought our last contract from TSS last year and sold a contract last month the sellers did not have to have anything notorized until after the contract passed through ROFR.

Does anyone know why Fidelty has sellers notorize the sales contract before ROFR and do they have to have more papers (closing docs.) notorized once it passes?

FYI - paying advertisers have NOTHING to do with any words (especially Bert :) ) or sites in the DIS word filter. None of our advertisers have any influence over other similar businesses being discussed on our site. Fidelity, atimeshare and DVCbyResale are certainly allowed and discussed along with The Timeshare Store among others. If you enter a link to another site and find it replaced by ***, please don't get creative trying to find other ways to provide the information.

The DIS is a privately owned web site and we reserve the right to restrict any outside commercial ventures at our discretion. We will not discuss the reasons behind why specific websites are filtered and any discussion regarding the word filter may be deleted. Purchased an add-on last year with DVCbyResale - went very well; Shontell was efficient

Just made on offer this week with Fidelity. Fastest offer/acceptance EVER as when I called to make the offer, the seller was on the other line (about a different contract they were selling) - BOOM! Accepted on the spot. Waiting now for it to go thru ROFR. I agree that Fidelity seems to have the largest pool of resales. Was told that's who Disney refers members to when they decide to sell...
