Can I ask a question please?

First of all HI!
My DD and I met Rick and Joe last summer for a volunteer day. We took a bus out and home the same day for a volunteer project. She was very much into it, and we had a great time! (thanks Rick and Joe!)
I took her knowing that her life was sheltered and that she needed to see that relationships of same sex are not only valid, but worth it, (quite normal in fact) I hope this makes sense and not offend anyone!! Not sole reason mind you!
We talked honestly and openly on the way home and I told her that our political and religious leaders need to stay out of 2 consenting, law abiding adults bedroom. She agreed!
Heres the question, what do you say to another about this subject? She knows my views, and we are both just in awe!~
I try to simply state that your views aren't mine and go on. But how can I can say this more effectively? Is there a way?????
I don't want to argue with family, etc, but sometimes, its just hard!

Simply ask them why they think they should have a say in the love lives of total strangers, and if total strangers should also, therefor, have a say in their love lives.

I don't know, some of them might like that!!!

But really, if 2 adults love each other why does anyone else care? I worked with a 30-something woman married to a 70-something man, and some of the people talk about how scandelous it is. I personally don't care and think it's their business.

I think some people spend too much time worrying about what others are doing. It might be worth it to skip asking them and letting them know how you feel then seeing their reaction. Living and working in the Bible Belt of SC, my partner and I have some relationships with people at work where we agree to disagree and move on with it.

I am thrilled you had that quality time with your daughter. It sounds like she has a tremendous role model in you and she will appreciate your openmindedness and candor.
