Can I ask a question about sinusitis?

I went to the doctor last week and he told me I had sinusitis. I got a catscan to ensure that that was the problem. I did the z-pack antibiotics for the full 6 days. My question is, if you've had sinusitis, how long after you complete antibiotics do you still feel head/sinus pressure? Thank you!

For me it always depends on how bad the infection was and how long I waited to go get antibiotics.

The z-pack wasn't enough for my last sinus infection. It took two rounds of biaxin to get rid of it. Sinus infections can be very stubborn, if you are still having discomfort after completing a round of antibiotics, go see your Dr. to make sure it isn't lingering.

Ditto on the Biaxin. That said, the last time I got a Z pack, it was still another 4 or 5 days before the pressure resolved itself.

Z-pack doesn't always work for sinus infections. Cefzil, Biaxin, and Augmentin are offten used and now levequin. Good luck...you might need something stronger but give it a full ten days to see if the z-pack worked. My DS had to be on cefzil for 21 days.

Z-pack is a poor choice for sinus infections.
I am on Augmentin right now, for 2 weeks.
Call your doc and tell them it did not work.

go get a sinus rinse ..you cant get them at the drug store..i am telling you that is the best thing..i have had severe bilateral sinusitus ...have to have two sinus surgeries..no meds work ed for me..but the sinus rinse did....

Irrigate with salt water. I am battling that wet dog/dumpster smell in my left sinus right now and have found that salt water helps. I never had sinus trouble until I had a mass removed 5 years ago......pretty tough surgery, but I'm still here
