Can I add money to my onboard account a month before?

I just received a new credit card that doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees...I am Canadian...so the limit is only $5000. With a B2B Europe cruises I know my account will be more than that. I would like to prepay some of my onboard charge so I can use the card.

Has anyone done this?

Yes, I think you can add money to your account up to 3 days before you sail.

You can fax the gifts and amenities form, but it's probably easier just to call.

Yes, you can use a credit card or Disney Gift cards (I buy them in CAD, convert them to US on the Disney Gift Card site when the exchange rate is good, avoids the forex fees too).

Yes, you can add money to your account before you sail. Here is the gifts and amenities form you can fill out and fax or you can just call them to add money before you sail. The below form is for both adding money to your onboard account and for buying gifts.

Two easy ways to order gifts:

1. Call (800) 601-8455
2. Download and complete the gifts order form, and fax it to (407) 566-3760.

Guests under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call. All orders must be received no later than 3 days prior to sail date. Applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases. A 15% gratuity will be added for all beverage purchases.

You can also prepay an amount on to your credit card before you leave. It will then start with a negative balance, but as you charge to it while travelling, it will slowly return to zero and then eventually show an owing balance. I would do it regardless (esp. if faced with a $5,000 limit). Europe can get very expensive very fast!
