A friend has a trip booked for Sept. 22-30, booked through Disney. If she calls on Thurs. (not a Visa holder), will they add the free dining and drop the charge for the dining plan she already paid for? Or is this only for new reservations to the resorts? Thanks for your help!!!:confused3

I was able to change my existing reservation over to free dining yesterday (I have the Disney visa). My original reservation was for the 3 nights at POR with dining and they just switched it over to free dining for me. I'm sure they'll do the same on Thursday. :)

Do you know if the code will be the same or will they use a different one for the non-Visa ressies?

Yup, should be a different code. I read on a different thread that most CMs weren't evening take the code yesterday because we had to verify our Disney Visa card numbers. I guess the first 4 digits are "Disney" digits. :wizard:

Also, keep in mind that the free dining promotion is already "sold out" at some resorts and/or for some room classes, for the last week of the promotion period.

you should be able to just modify your existing reservation. That is what I am going to do and they will just take the free dining amount off of my bill- saving a little over 800 dollars..........

What if I already have reservations but they are from 8/22 - 8/29? Will they remove from a portion of the days (three I think) or would I have to change my days (which I can't do because I already have the airline tkts)? Somone from another post said something about having to split the reservation? But that sounds like a major hassel. Any insight would be most appreciated.:)

You'd have to have two separate reservations. It isn't that much of a hassle, but it isn't as straight-forward as having a single reservation. And yes, very infrequently it could even mean that you have to switch rooms mid-trip. However, many people feel that it is worth doing to take advantage of free dining.

bicker, you mention some resorts are already sold out for free dining? any idea what resort to request that might be a shoe in? I'm really hoping to book a deluxe but need a room for 5 people? would go with two rooms at mod if need be but would like to avoid values? any advice?

I have read many posts regarding this exact subject... Most people are saying you would probably have an easier time booking at a Deluxe resort! So I think you will be definately all set!! I would still call early, lines open at 7am but I have read of people calling at 6:45am and sitting on hold.... I myself called exactly at 7am sharp and did wait on hold for 1 hour and 50 mins... Not complaining! totally worth it!!! Good Luck!!!:thumbsup2

thanks disney fab 4,

I'm going to try 6:45am and see what happens.

I am resort flexible I guess but not so much with dates. . .

looking for some magic:goodvibes

Thanks Bicker - yes I agree it would be worth the hassel. I just got off the phone with reservations and they told me I would have to split the res but they were having server troubles and asked me to call back later. I did ask about having to switch rooms and the CM told me to be sure to mention the situation when we arrive and hopefully we would not have to move out of the room. I am so excited!! If not for all you experts on the board I would be absolutely clueless!! Thanks again!:goodvibes :cloud9:
