Can I add extra people to a room reservation?

Would I add them as new people on my account or create an account for them and link them? They don't have their own account right now so they don't care either way what happens.



I look into that but they jack the room price up by a hundred bucks for adding a 4th person.

In my case I just added my family to my account as they have no interest in having their own account, sounds like this may be the situation for you as well. (and its easier just to do everything myself!)

The extra adult price is $25 per adult/per night at the Deluxe resorts and you only pay for the nights you add them. Its cheaper to purchase the magic bands if they aren't going to actually spend a night with you.

FWIW this is why we choose the Studio villa vs the traditional room as I mentioned above; my daughter's are both over 18 so even though there are only 3 of us it saves us $. You also get an extra fold down twin bed, microwave and mini kitchen.

You have to have been doing something wrong. It does work. I have done it all the time.
For instance, I have a trip in Oct and booked rooms for just me, DD and DGD for now, as I'm not sure if DH is coming yet. No since in paying for the 3rd adult till we know for sure. But, I want to book his FP for sure.
So when I did those I just included him in all our FP choices, checking the box by his name along with ours. Because me, DD and DGD are on a resort stay we were able to book at 60 days (naturally). When I included DH in those FP choices, he got to book then too.
However, if I had tried to book DH a FP alone, it would not have allowed me to, as he did not have a resort stay booked.
So maybe have you not tried to check her name, along with yours?

If u want, u can also add just one of your parents to your reservation. That Parent would then have their own a magic band and be able to come and go to your room easily.

Yes - This ...

For example on my MDE account I have my daughters, my sister in law, niece and nephew, my mother in law and my sister and brother in law. We have stayed together in various combinations over the years but not always. Who is on your MDE is just a list of friends and family that may travel with you and it has nothing to do with either resort reservations or FP+. If/When you make a reservation that includes them you just choose them to add to the reservation whether its a room or FP+.

On my next reservation its just myself and my daughters - I just selected the guests joining me during the resort reservation process. Since I have family who lives close by I can include them in our FP+ reservations for the day they visit - as long as they are the same as ours.

Correct.
Where you might be getting mixed up is everyone in the resort reservation package does need to have the same reservation parameters.
But not everyone listed on your MDE account.

We just came back from one week at Yacht Club. Had two separate room reservations. One room had only two people in it. My room had me, DH, DD and a son who came in at the tail end. I had to add him on the day of his arrival so that he wouldn't be charged the three nights he wasn't there.

Anyway, I had the ability to make FP for anyone who was in my MDE as long as their tickets were registered in my MDE.

Just to clarify, in case some readers don't realize, they only charge for the 3rd and 4th ADULT guest. Not children.
