Can I add a package to room only?

Ok, I have a friend who works at WDW and can get me the cast discount for room only. However, I still want park tickets and the DDP. If I book her room only price, can I then add the ticket/DDP package to that? I'm trying to plan for the first week of March and there are no other discounts available to me since I don't have an AP. Does anyone know the answer to my question?

Sorry you can't do that. Hubby was a CM for 8 years and you can't combine discounts. In order to get the DDP, you have to book a package which means rack rate room, tickets for all in your party and the price of the DDP for the length of your stay for all in the room. (There is a slight discount for AAA members on some packages). Just like the AP and Florida residents room only discount, the CM room only discount is exactly the same. A package must be purchased in order to purchase the DDP -- of course the only exception is for DVC members and their renters. Even when we were a CM family and they offered the free DDP in September 2005, we canceled our CM discounted room at Pop which only saved us $49 and paid rack rate for our room to get the free DDP. However, your friend should still check for you because things change all of the time, but I'm pretty sure we would've heard about it from our WDW CM friends.

Occasionally Cast has been offered rooms with a DDP option. But those are not that often, and have restrictions. And I am guessing the CM has to be staying in the room. (Don't know as I have not booked with the DDP attached.)
The CM can buy you park admission with their discount. But don't expect any deep discounts on park tickets. Depending on what you want, you may do just as well, if not better through AAA.

Last Fall I booked a room using my Cast discount (OGB) for a friend. They too cancelled that and booked a WDTC package on their own, as they came out ahead due to buying the DDP and park tickets along with the room rate.
