Can I activate "split stay" tickets early?

We are going to WDW November 12-20. We got free dining for the 14th-20th w/ 8 day hoppers on that reservation. We also have a room only reservation 12th-14. Can we go to guest services the 12th and activate those tickets early? I realize we won't be able to make fast passes for the 12th or 13th until activated.

Yes. Package tickets can be activated up to 10 days prior to the package check-in date.

you won't be able to get fastpasses for those days until you've activated it though because the system won't let you do that early with package tickets.

I'm on a similar situation as we get there on December 5th but our package starts on December 8th. After activating those tickets, how easy it is to upgrade them to annual passes?

you dont need to activate them to upgrade them.. just stop at guest relations and tell them you want to upgrade the tickets and they will take your money happily.

Will they honor my memory Maker purchase and give me the discount for that as well? I've done the math and my 10 day PH ticket plus my memory maker comes up to $699, so I only have to pay $80 for one AP and $234 for the second one.

They will apply the cost of memory maker to the ticket price so yes you'll save the cost of memor maker on the upgrade. They will also apply the cost of parking (regular parking price) so get a receipt for that if you drove and staying offsite and needed to pay to park.
