Can I activate my AP at Downtown disney or the Market Place?

After a year of planning I'm finally here. We will be having lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe tomorrow and shopping. Can I activate my AP at either of these places?

You can activate your pass at the Guest Services desk. THere are two, on at Downtown Disney West Side and one at Downtown Disney Marketplace. I'm not familiar with the Westside location, but the Marketplace location is a small office, tucked behind the Sportswear store, near the restrooms.

You can also activate your AP at the guest services at the entrance to any of the four parks! Just an idea!

That's what we always did--but at MK we spent almost a hour in line at guest services. I like the idea of activating the pass at DD-should be less of a line.

By activating at DTD, they are able to scan your fingers and everything so you are all set for the parks in the morning? I think our first day will be MGM in early dec (offseason). Could I expect the lines there at that time of the year to be smaller at guest services such that I don't really need the DTD trip?

That's been our experience over the years.
Lines during Off-season at Guest Services have been a non-issue.

BTW, Guest Services is not the place you get your "fingers scanned" anyway.
The FIRST time you USE the AP (at any park turnstile) is when it "measures and records" the info for the remainder of its period of use... so make SURE each member of the family has his or her OWN pass so the info is created correctly.

If there IS a problem with this first scan, make sure the CM at the turnstyle corrects the situation at that point. It can save some time with later uses.

I am looking to get AP for my upcoming trip too. My question is I know you can activate them at downtown disney or the four parks but can you activate them at your resort?

You can only activate APs at Guest Services at the parks, or Downtown Disney, unless you purchase an already activated one at the Orlando Airport in one of the Disney stores there.

Can you activate AP at Intl Gateway entrance to Epcot or only front entrance - that will be my first stop after checking in coming from Boardwalk - thanks!

Yes you can--that's one of my favorite places to do it. The lines are usually not there!

Nope. Unfortunately, you cannot activate them at your resort.

Do you know how late guest services are usually open in DTD? For some reason I'm thinking 11pm. My plan (if ontime) will get in at 1045 pm and I'd love to run over and activate my pass that night if they were open till midnight.

I believe Guest Relations is open until 11:00 - possibly 11:30. I don't believe that it's open until midnight.
