Plane is landing at 10:30am and were planning on heading straight to Disney Springs for lunch before checking in at the resort.

Question: will I be able to activate my Annual Pass voucher there, and also sign up for Tables in Wonderland ? It would be nice to start saving at that first meal.

Head to the "Welcome Center" at Disney Springs.

Thanks all ! Welcome Center it is. We're hoping to get there early enough to do a little shopping before lunch ... so I'll have the wife shop with the kids while I pick up the pass.

I'm thinking it would be far more economical for your wife to get the tickets and you go shopping.

No doubt! ;)

But, on a more serious note...
If picking up new APs, all adults need to be present (with a legal ID) in order to get/activate the APs.

Plus merchandise discounts are available to passholders at a number of locations in Disney Springs (and around the entire WDW Resort), so you should hold off on the shopping until the passes have been activated.

Yup - knew this. We're throwing this trip in last minute - we're planning on a big family trip summer 2018 and 2019, so only I am getting an AP this time around ... rest of family will get them in 2018. I just wanted discounts / TiW / Parking for this trip.

Yes - the plan is to let her window shop for an hour or so before lunch and then we can go back and buy afterwards. I mean, I could probably pick up the pass and meet her at a store before lunch, but it will be my first hour of vacation, so I'd bet the farm that she's more likely to find me having a pre-lunch cocktail at the Boathouse outdoor bar than rushing to World of Disney to use the discount to save 15% on some blow-molded Minnie Mouse trivets.

If I play my cards right, lunch will be followed by her wanting a couple cocktails, followed by the kids screaming to get to the hotel so they can go swimming and we can bypass the shopping thing altogether.

Yes.
I'm SURE that's exactly what's going to happen.

:)
