Can holding points be transferred?

I had to cancel a trip last minute and have points in holding that have to be used by 3/31. I'm sure this has been answered, but couldn't find it - can I transfer these points , assuming they're used by 3/31?

I was told by someone on this board that they ARE transferrable but will retain the holding restrictions. Don't be surprised if you call MS and get a different answer. Call back again and you may get the answer you want. Or ask for a supervisor.

I just got off the phone with MS - I have 30 points that need to be used by 5/31 - and was told that holding points could NOT be transferred.

Not exactly true.......I did a small transfer and MS took 2 points that I had in holding and transferred them. They weren't suppose to but they did anyway. Come to find out from who I spoke with, you can transfer them but as one poster said they retain the holding account status.
