Can Guest Services help with expiring PH tickets??

I bought my family 5-day PH this fall from Undercover Tourist. When I bought them, I noticed that there were two PH ticket categories available: one that said they must be used before February 2019 and another that didn't say that (they were a bit more). I purchased the more expensive ones that didn't state an expiration date and linked them to our account. We are supposed to go next week but things are getting complicated: my younger son suffered a concussion and he is improving but not as quickly as we'd like; there is a snow storm predicted the day we leave, etc. I just went on to My Disney Experience App and I noticed that our tickets say they are good until January 14, 2020! I was under the impression that these tickets didn't expire. If we can't go on this trip, I don't know when we'd be able to go. I know we would eventually, but maybe not until spring of 2020. Does guest services ever help in this situation? I'd hate to lose $1800.

Since you bought from Undercover, I'd start with them to see if there is anything they can do.

If they can't do anything, you're not out your $1800. When it is time to go, Disney will apply that $1800 towards any new tickets you buy.

thank you. Even putting it towards the new ticket price would be something. I wouldn't mind paying a nominal difference in ticket price but we just can't bear to lose that much money.

All new WDW "Theme Park tickets" purchased from anyone have an expiration date.
Your investment is safe, even after the expiration date.
After that date, you can use the full Disney value (not just what YOU paid for these tickets) to
help buy new, current WDW tickets when you next go to WDW.

I just had one ticket, purchased from UT, expire a few weeks ago, so here are some words of advice. My ticket disappeared from my MDE account. I called WDW ticket services who let me know all expired tickets will be taken out of MDE accounts. I saved my ticket number and read it to the CM over the phone. He was able to see the ticket and let me know I could take that ticket number to guest services the next time we visit WDW and use the value toward a new ticket. Because the ticket was purchased through UT, I could not do this exchange prior to going to WDW, which, of course, affects my ability to make FP+ but, at least, I did not lose the value of the ticket. I would suggest saving all documentation UT sent you with this ticket - most importantly the ticket number - so you can show it to guest services in the event the ticket expires. You would be much better off, however, trying to use these tickets before they expire simply for the ability to pre-reserve your FP+.

You should have no worries about losing your 1800. Official disney policy is once the tickets are expired they keep a value of $1800. Then when you want to use them you just pay the difference in price for new tickets which likely won't be very much.

I think that point may be a bit confusing, as stated.

The policy is that tickets retain their value based on cost the date they were purchased,
even after they have "expired.".

I traded in a week of unused "water park fun & more" (few years old) tickets to new tickets in October and I can attest that you'll have no problems applying the value of your unused tickets to new tickets. You'll just pay the difference. If I were to suggest a location to do this, I recommend the Epcot international gateway entrance or the Animal Kingdom entrance. Much less crowded than other locations.
