We are a family of four and one of us already has a sorcerer‘s pass that we got with the 75 points MMB offer when MMB first rolled out. (The one AP that we bought will expire right after our May 2026 trip, but we’re not renewing it since 2027 will be back out to Disneyland) For our next trip starting in May 2026, I would like to get three more sorcerer‘s passes for our other family members. I have 75 BLT points in my 12/2026 contract that I would like to use. And I have 150 in my VGC 06/2026 contract that I would like to use. Can I borrow points to get sorcerer’s passes? (I mean, I borrowed to book my BLT May reservation, so I’m hoping??) And can I use VGC points for a WDW Sorcerer Pass?
Thanks!

Yes, you can use banked or borrowed points for the sorcerer's pass with MMB. I used a bunch of banked points myself.

You can also use VGC as long as the VGC points are direct or grandfathered. Basically just no recent resale points

I just got off the phone with MS and I’m very disappointed. They said I can’t use my VGC contract since it’s a resale. Since we bought it in 2014, I thought it had no restrictions. The lovely, greedy company decided to only allow direct points to be used to get a Sorcerer’s Pass with MMB. So stuck with VGC points I don’t need and having to fork out a bunch of money on 2 APs. And to pour salt into the wound, they’re making me call back in December when my BLT UY starts. I’m so over Disney.

It looks like they are using the earliest resale restrictions from 2011 then and treating the annual pass swap like cruise, ABD, and world collection swaps. Only my Riviera points are eligible so I had to use those for mine.

Yeah, I guess they must be. With the way that they have removed some of my favorite rides and shows, like Muppet vision, Dinosaur, Rivers of America, in addition to how expensive trips are if you choose to get genie plus or whatever they wanna call it this year, and all the ways that they find to say no, I have zero good feeling left for this company. Very sad since I am somebody who grew up loving everything about Disney. When I was in fourth grade, I even did a book report on a Walt Disney biography. I certainly don’t feel the same way about the company anymore.

We did a split stay with universal this summer, which is something that we had not done since 2010. We are doing the same thing next year. No more long trips to WDW. The more annoyed that I get with the company, the less money they will get from us. We always spend a lot on eating three meals per day plus snacks and lots of souvenirs. No more we actually came home with some money left on Disney gift cards this past time, which has never happened before.

When I bought, that is what I was told…had to be purchased before 2012 when trades like this were restricted.

I know we have a few reports of some who got to use resale purchase after then, but most have been only direct points or eligible resale.

VGC points are considered desirable. Something you could consider is selling those points as a transfer to another member and then you can use that money to purchase annual passes.

I have seriously thought about that since that seems like less hassle and quicker than renting out a night or two to multiple renters. I can go ahead and transfer June 2026 points now, right?

Correct. Just remember, if you decide to do that, please don’t post you are unless it is in our Rent/Transfer thread.
