Can ECV Rental BE Taken Out of the Park?

My dad will be renting a ECV at the parks over Easter break. If we want to have lunch at City Walk, can he take the ECV out of the park and return to the park later? Trying to minimize his walking as much as possible so he can enjoy himself more.

ECV's cannot be taken out of either of the parks so your dad would have to walk to City Walk. There is a solution, however. A couple of years ago, my husband had foot surgery a couple of weeks prior to our Universal trip. We rented an ECV from Walker Mobility, an outside company. They deliver the ECV right to your hotel and you can have it with you wherever you go. We even took it on the boats that travel from CityWalk to the Universal hotels. BTW, the price was exactly the same as renting an ECV every day at the parks! Much better for the convenience factor.
