Can DVC membership benefits usable on resale contracts?

Beginning my research into buying a first contract. One thing I can't seem to find, or don't completely understand, are the membership benefits of a contract that was bought direct from Disney also applied to a resale contract as well? For example, if I would want to use points for a Disney Cruise Line trip. I understand that contracts bought direct the membership benefits allow for this, but what if I own both a direct contract and re-sale contract? Can I use the re-sale contract points for the Disney Cruise Line trip because I hold a direct purchased contract?

Member benefits such as discounts and Epcot lounge are available as long as you purchase enough direct points to get a blue card, currently 150 points, regardless of which contract you are using to reserve a room.

Aside from that, each contract carries its own restrictions with that contract, not the membership. So no, resale points can not be used for DCL regardless of how many direct points you have. They also can not be used at RIV or any other future resorts, unless they are RIV resale points, then they can only be used at RIV. As for DCL, it’s generally accepted that using points to book DCL is not a great conversion of your points value. Many suggest renting your points instead and using the income to book a cash DCL.

Resale points bought at RIV can only be used at RIV.

Neither get you membership extras..blue card discounts..are trading into the Disney collection which is cruises.

Legacy 14. The 14 DVC resorts that opened prior to Riviera.
