Can DVC members use other Deluxe pools?

I didn't say you did, I was more asking the question.
As I noted, I don't think it's appropriate but unfortunately the likely option to fix it is to stop PH altogether which I suspect will happen at some point.

how is that fair we are all in the DVC together are'nt we:confused3

It's fair in that anyone staying at BCV can swim at the pools at YC/BC/BCV. It's fair in that anyone staying at AKV can swim at the pools at AKL/AKV. It's fair in that anyone staying at BLT can swim at BTL.

Just use your points to stay at one of these resorts and you can swim at those pools.

Like we said, it doesn't matter where you own, just where you are staying.

But anybody can stay at BLT. You can, too.

Like I said clearly dont get it, your latest post just proves that.

By the same token, is it fair that those DVCers staying at SSR can swim at the Poly or the Grand Floridian, but those folks paying big $$ to stay at those cash resorts can't hop over to SSR? Fairness isn't always a two way street, the rules are the rules. The more onsite DVCs they build, the higher the probability that pool hopping will disappear completely.

Then I (and several others) just don't get what you are trying to say.

I am talking about fairness, ill try to simplify it for you

staying at YC want to eat at SSR no problem
staying at YC want to swim at SSR no problem

staying at SSR want to eat at YC no problem
staying at SSR want to swim at YC NOT ALLOWED

as for Chuck bringing up POLY & GF they are not DVC so that is not even relevent to this, the several others you allude to include you and chuck, the only other person commenting on this was Dean and he agrees it's not fair.
I honestly can't see why you think this is a fair situation.

The one way option is clearly not fair, period. But as also noted, it has little true effect. I understand the reasons behind it, the risk of crowding at those resorts and pools, but implementing a one way option was/is inappropriate. However, as I noted and I've predicted will ultimately happen, the fix is the elimination of PH.

I'm not in any way disagreeing with anything you have said. if it's not reciprical then it should be banned

But you aren't seeing my point, either. Why can someone staying at SSR, on points and paying nowhere near the several hundred $ a night it takes for the Grand Floridian/Poly be able to swim there, but the Grand Floridian/Poly guests not be able swim at SSR? I mean, if you're really talking about being fair...

They are not DVC, if they were you can bet SSR guests would'nt be able to, same as YC, but they would be able to swim at SSR.

But again, how many guests at BCV (even percentage-wise) do you think would want to swim at SSR (or any other DVC resort), vs the number of SSR (or other DVC resort) guests that want to swim at BCV?

Really, I consider this a non-issue. Water is water, wet is wet.

I'ts an issue because its not fair, if you consider it a non issue good for you, so why keep posting?

You haven't answeed the question...how many people staying at BCV, even percentage-wise, do you think will want to swim at other DVC resorts vs. the percentage of other DVC resort guests that want to go to Stormalong Bay? Crowding and safety would be legitimate and relevant reasons for not allowing pool hoppnig, wouldn't they?

Since you obviously have issues with the Pool Hopping policy, why not contact DVC Member Satisfaction...no one on these boards can offer any solution for you, other than staying at the resort where you desire to swim.

It's stupid question no one can know that not even Disney or DVC, but they do allow PH but not both ways so it's not fair, as I posted earlier I would be welcome at any resort to spend money but not to swim for free, really not sure why you want to continue this as you say it'a a non issue

I realize it's the policy, but I'm curious to know why the quiet pools at BC/BCV are included in the restriction.
I really don't care, as I never pool hop. Even if I did, the last place on my desirability list would be the BCV quiet pool.

Just curious...

But you could also decide to stay at any DVC resort. Anyone can stay at SSR, and anyone can stay at BCV, and everyone knows the pool hop rules that go with it. So it is fair because the rules are the same for everyone. It doesn't matter where you own, it just matters where you choose to stay.

If PH was allowed at BCV many people would pool hop there because of how unique and desirable the pool is, making it closed to guests staying there due to occupancy limitations. (Let me clarify "many" meaning the small percentage of PHers from all the other DVC resorts because it stands out among the DVC pools.) Whereas, for instance, the PHing to other pools would balance out because as many people are likely to leave SSR and go to VWL and vice versa.

because the rules are the same for everyone.

but they are not are they it could not be simpler

YC to SSR yes SSR to YC no

Like Chuck said, take it up with DVC, not with us on the DIS. We can't do anything about it other than recite the rules.

But if you are seeking equality for DVC, why not find out why all DVC members staying at AKV cannot sign up for the Sunrise Safari. Only those points-paying members staying in the AKV Concierge rooms can sign up for that. And the use of the Lounge at BLT only for members staying there. You should have been up in arms a few years ago when studio dwellers couldn't rent DVDs or Videos from the Community Hall because they had no way to play them unless they brought their own equipment.

Equality as you want it just isn't the way for some things at DVC or WDW for that matter. It's just the way it is.
