I'm just cruising the Mousememories.com site, and I'm losing my mind over how beautiful their papers and stickers and borders all are...

Do they have the same stuff at Disney? Is it as cheap? Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm particularly enamoured with the supplies used in the layout gallery there....

Thanks in advance!

Kris

I haven't looked at LO's on mousememories, but I just got back from Disney....

The paper they had was all in packs with stickers/die cuts according to subject. The packs were $15 I think...I got one for MNSSHP and it has 6-8 sheets of paper, some of which I won't use, several stickers/die cut shapes. There was no paper sold by the sheet that I found. I think the stickers were sold the same way, I did buy a package of rolls of stickers at WDW.

I was not really disappointed with the selection at Disney, but I wasn't thrilled either. They did have a few cute things, but I found more online (mousememories for one) and at Michael's here at home that I did there. If you find something you love there, buy it, because it may not be available anywhere else. I didn't see any Mickey punches there either.

Hope this helps!

Steph

Thanks, Steph. They have some incredibly beautiful stuff, some papers (I assume you just lay them over the pages and the page protectors hold them in, or you dab a bit of tape or glue in the corner?

Anyway, they have these gorgeous papers for 2 page layouts, with a princess in the bottom left corner, and a swirl of things that go with her in the bottom right, in glorious colour....oh, my!

I'll wait till I get my pics and see what I need.....

What about scrapbooks themselves? Did they have the beautiful black ones with the year on them like they had for 2003? I really want one of those.

Thanks!

Kris

Storybookmum......If you see something you REALLY like at Disney, go ahead and buy it. I waited until I got back home thinking I'd find the same thing here and have not. I'm STILL looking for a Mickey head punch w/o any luck! Guess I'll have to order one online as much as I hate to do that. I don't trust computers! :earseek:

Mousememories has alot of really nice things and some good ideas. Also check out scrapyourtrip.com. They have some really neat things too. For more LO ideas, go to twopeasinabucket and view their Disney gallery. I've "borrowed" several ideas from the great ladies that post there!!

Have fun!

Not sure how much this will help, it's a thread I posted awhile back looking for something specific......In it is a reply from Timon, she has a link to pics of the supplies at WDW. It should at least give you an idea of what there is.

Whenever I use a 12x12 printed sheet as my background, I always use tape to stick it down to my album page, not just let the page protector hold it on. I use CM albums, it probably depends on what type of album you're using. If you're using top-loading, I wouldn't stick it down.

They had 2 styles of albums that I saw...one was black with fireworks on the front and said 2004 Walt Disney World, I think it had a few places on the outside to put pics also. The other was green and had Pooh characters on it, with 04.

Steph

Thanks, Karen and Steph!

If I see something in the parks, I'll grab it for sure. I'm using a CM book right now, have no idea what a top-loading book is....so ok, I'll use the tape. I have one that's clear, for my baby's birth page, for a cropping I'm going to tonight; I guess it wouldn't matter if I used photosplits, since the paper underneath is white anyway, right?

Steph, I'm opening those pics now...my computer is really sluggish today for some reason...I think those are the 2003 books, though....does anyone know if the 2004 books are the same?

Thanks,

Kris

There is a Faux leather one that has a logo on it.
There is pooh one the has 04 with pooh crew in numbers. and there is a fireworks type one with spots to put i think 4 pictures in cover also that is flocked.

When I was there in Sept/Oct. the books were all half price and I can't say I saw fireworks one for sure.

I personally like my CM books better but will be using my green pooh crew one for halloween party pics.

If you look at mousememories they had all 3 books so you can see them.

I use CM albums too Kris, I love them! One thought, if you use CM stuff, go ahead and buy a roll of the photo tape, it's easier to use for large things, you just cut the right amount, stick it down and peel the back off.....and you don't waste a lot of your tape runner!

Steph

I finally got the pics to come up on my computer. I don't like the fireworks one very much; the Pooh Bear one, maybe. The faux leather just isn't us.

I don't understand why CM doesn't have a 12X12 Disney album. Wouldn't that just make sense?? There's no ROOM for anything on those little albums!

Tomorrow night I go to a cropping party; I'll get back in the groove (it's been a LOOOOOOONG time, and in 7 years I've only done about 12 pages, and they're pretty basic). I'm going to work on DD6's birth page, a zoo page spread, and possibly the Disney 2001 trip. We'll see how it goes. I'm excited, though - as much about the scrapping as about a night out for me by myself.

Cheers!

Kris

There are some really great Disney supplies available. The ones that they choose to stock at the store in DTD are not the best. I really don't understand why they don't stock more of the brands like SandyLion, Paper Pizazz etc that you can find online and in other retail stores. The only advantage to the one at DTD is they do have some stickers & papers specific for WDW attractions. I was disappointed in the quality of the products found there. Really not as good as you can find from other sources.

IMHO, do your homework and find what you can either at the parks or at your local scrapbook stores and Michaels, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby. Mousememories is INCREDIBLY overpriced on things found at WDW. For example, the faux leather album sells for over $40 at mousememories, but only $28 at the parks!! Mickey head eyelets are sold for over $6 at mousememories and only $3 at the parks.

I have ordered from mousememories in the past and will probably do so again, but only after I've exhausted all other options.

Sandylion, Jolee and Creative Impressions (I think that's what they're called) have great Disney lines. Again, these can be found at either your local scrapoobk stores, Michaels, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby. Single sheet papers generally sell for about 60 cents a sheet and sticker sheets are generally under $2.

Diane, that's really good information to know, thank you VERY much! I don't want to spend more than I have to, especially with the exchange. I didn't see a lot of the stuff at Michael's when I went, but we're in Canada, and a lot of the time, it's just a smaller selection. I think I'll print up my wish list or something, and then I'll have mousememories prices with me so I can compare.

I did give my sister the URL for our wish list, because she's in Italy and always wants to know what to get...

I'm very excited right now to see what a beautiful scrapbook we can make together. I think it'll help coming home...something to keep the magic alive and revisit it!
