Can Disney Dollars be used when upgrading MYW to annual pass?

I'm pretty sure my mother is giving me Disney Dollars for my birthday. I'm hoping to use them to pay part of the difference between my MYW ticket and an annual pass. I'm 99% sure that I can do this, but I wanted to ask the experts!! Thank you!!

Yes, absolutely! Disney Dollars are just like cash for most on site purchases and most definitely includes the purchase of tickets.
