That sounds like a cat poster, but it's true

Trip is just a week away, it's too late to cancel just the dining plan, isn't it? I'm thinking it would be way cheaper for me to pay OOP. We can't get into CRT or even Akershus on the days we want, which is the whole reason I did the plan.

Sorry. It is too late to cancel.

Do you have back-up ADR's? Don't forget to keep trying several times a day and night for the places that you want to get into.

Its a long shot because you are going at one of the busiest times of the year, but you could always walk up to the podium and ask if there were any cancellations. Try at an off time, like the last breakfast setting around 10:30ish, or right as soon as the park opens. Maybe someone will have overslept.

You should be able to change your package to a room only reservation or to a package with park tickets but no dining, but there likely will be a fee for doing so.

I answered this question last night, so it must be cross-posted somewhere but it is not too late to cancel, I said the same thing Elizabeth said. You can cancel, but you will most likely be charged a penalty for doing so.

I think 72 hours out is the deadline to cancel though - that's the deadline to add a dining package, so I'm guessing it's the same.

Thank a bunch for your responses. I wonder what the penalty is? Probably not worth it. Dh says just to keep the Dx plan so that I don't have to worry about prices, but I hate the thought of overpaying.

Keep calling!! you May be able to get in still! Don't give up! Try on line, and call. even while you are down there. Its worth a shot! :goodvibes
and if you don't get in, why don't you try a to get into a signature restaurant? use up 2 credits, and get a fancy meal. :)
also apperantyly hoopdedoo is fun, (I've never been) But It might be worth it to go. That way you don't waste your credits. haha and hoopdeedoo includes beer and wine! :thumbsup2
Also if you want to see the princesses, have you tried 1900 parkfair? ( not sure if that is spelled right) but they have a cinderella dinner, and the step sisters are there, and I heard it can be REALLY fun.

I believe that the fee is $200. It may be even more at this late date.

I just looked at my reservation and it states that a $50 fee will be charged for changes made 44 days or less prior to arrival. The $200 fee that the pp mentioned is the fee for cancelling a reservation 44 days or less prior to arrival.

Yes, I also thought it was about $50, not the full $200 cancellation fee.

Keep trying for Akershus, I see some availablity when I play around with the system. When are you looking for and for how many ppl?

Also, I was like this when we first did the DDP. I was SO happy that we decided to add it in the end because odds are that you will get your moneys worth, esp. with kids who "need" mickey bars, drinks, etc... Believe me, I doubt you will be disappointed in it ;) We actually are doing the Deluxe plan when we leave in 5 days now, that is how much we enjoyed the DDP ! Have a great trip!

Yes, you can cancel the dining plan as long as you do it no later than 72 hours before arrival (48 hours for a DVC reservation).

On a DVC reservation, you will pay nothing to cancel your dining plan.

On a package reservation, in your situation you would likely pay a $50 change fee for downgrading your package, as you are within 45 days of arrival. You will likely also pay an additional $15 fee for making changes to your package within two weeks of arrival. So you can remove the plan but it would probably cost you $65 to do so.

$200 is the cancellation fee for a package, not the change fee.
