Can Concierge get otherwise filled ADRs?

Dh told me this morning that someone at work was able to get ADRs no problem via the Concierge at his resort (Beach Club Villas) when he had tried to get them through Disney Dining before his trip and told no availability. He implied this was at any restaurant, but not we're 100% sure if this was just at resort restaurants.

Just wondered if there are tables kept available for those staying at Deluxe resorts and making ADRs through the Concierge.

I have heard of guests staying CLUB level at the Deluxe resorts (club level guests have separate concierge) sometimes having success getting in at full restaurants. I know we have had the club level concierge actually get on the phone and speak with the restaurant directly.

Just being a guest at a deluxe resort will not get you special treatment. Beach Club Villas do not even have a concierge; they would use Beach Club. Since I own at BCV and have used the BC concierge several times, I can tell you that I was not given any special access to unavailable ADRs.

Now there is the case of being able to snag a last minute ADR due to people cancelling the day before to avoid the no show fee. That may be how they were able to get the ADRs

We're staying club-level at the poly in sept. I'd hoped the club concierge could help us with ADR's at booked restaurants that we wanted to get into, but no luck. Maybe as time gets closer it gets easier?

I've never heard of tables held back for deluxe guests or even club level guests. We wanted a last mintue reservation when staying club level once and they were unable to get it for us. Now, are you someone like Justin Bieber or Selena Gomez, then, yes, I think they will find you a table.

We have always stayed club level and I have had concierge called and try to get dinner reservations when I was told they were booked and guess what???They were also book for the club level too. Hoped this helped!

When we stayed CL at AKL we tried to get a last minute ADR and they were not able to help. I think they have some clout but if a restaurant is full it is full.

We have stayed CL at the Beach Club and I actually did try exactly that - there was an ADR I'd been unable to get on my own, so I decided to try asking them to get it for me.

They were not able to do it.

One thing they WERE able to do for me was cancel a Hoop Dee DOo reservation for us on the day of the reservation, without us having to pay for the tickets or any kind of cancellation fee.

We had HDDR reservations on our arrival day, and got caught up in a series of horrible flight delays that ended up with us landing in FL after the time of the ADR. When the delays were first announced and it was clear we had no chance of making it, I first tried calling the general WDW reservation # to cancel, but they told me that although they were sorry about my unfortunate circumstance, there were no same-day cancellations and I was on the hook for the cost of the 4 tickets.

Then I called the CL concierge, and they basically laughed off the idea that I would be charged. They told me they would handle it, and when my flight landed I had a nice voice mail from them letting me know that it was all taken care of.

I was simultaneously pleased and annoyed - as it did seem unfair that I was only able to get my problem fixed by being lucky enough to have planned a CL stay!

The Poly club staff were able to do something similar for us - canceling with no charge - I can't remember what it was - the luau or Hoop - when my husband got ill for a day on our trip.

The CL CM at CR (man that's a lot of abbreviations) helped us get an ADR pushed back later into the evening even though the restaurant had no openings.

She even called the GM of the GF to help get our ADR moved. YMMV.

I think you are right, and that pushed back is doable. You have an existing reservation, and they are merely asking for an "accommodation" in delaying your arrival time for whatever reason. They did that for us at the Poly CL desk when we were going to be late for our Crystal Palace dinner for one reason or another.

But getting a brand-new reservation is totally different, and not something I think they are able to do.

The advantage is that they have access before 7:00 am, giving them first chance at cancellations. Last week IPO at YC was finally able to get us in to the Tommorowland Terrace Dessert party for 9/10/12
