Does anyone know if you can apply a code to a MYW dining package if or when they come out for May? Just wondering. Thanks for your input! :wave2:

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet. The rumor was/is that you had to pay rack rate to get the dining package, but it's still so new that no one's been able to try that I know of.

Maybe someone else will know for sure!

When I called Disney last week about this the rep told me that the Dining package was not valid with any promotional rates so I would say that your answer is no. But I guess you still never really know until somebody tries.

I am in the same boat. We have a MYW plus dining in June. At first when I asked the CM he said that the codes may be able to apply to packages, that they "didn't know yet". When I called about a week ago, I was told they wouldn't be able to unless it was a special deal for packages since the deal is in the dining with those packages and he doubted they would have a code to lower the cost of rooms. We'll see. . .I am SURE hoping. I would love to upgrade to WL, we're at the POP right now, I would upgrade in a heartbeat. Also, last summer they had the stay for 7 pay for 5 package deal, that would be GREAT too! I hope they have something for those of us who paid for these new packages with dining, but I have this bad feeling that they feel that was a deal in and of itself.

It seems to me that part and parcel of booking a "package" is getting the room rate that comes along with the package ie..rack rate. Reading through a lot of posts ( not specifically the ones from this thread) some people don't seem to be getting the point of a "package." When you book something as a package everything is bundled together. It is very rare that you can then make some alteration to a specific part of the package ie: room rate, because that then defeats the purpose of booking everything in a bundle. Sometimes doing it this way will save money, but often times it's cheaper just booking each individually if you have access to discount codes or AP rates.

Unless Disney comes out with discount packages, I don't believe you will be able to use a room only code and apply that to a package that you've already booked. It just wouldn't make sense. That's just my own logic, I could be wrong. :confused3

If a room code does come out you may just want to try and rebook a room only reservation with the code and ditch the package with the dining option. It will of course depend on the savings and what your needs will be at the time.

I called yesterday and made our ressies for our trip in the first week of April. We were able to use an email code of $74 a night at Pop Century and get the MYW 7 day park hopper with dining.

Several have posted that they have gotten the postcard/email rate, and were able to add the dining.

If the CM tells, you no, I would prob. ask them to try it, and see if it works, or hang up and call back.

You knew there had to be a catch somewhere as the dining plan is a fantastic deal. They make up the cost on the room. You can not uses the discount codes with the new packages. :confused3

Youre right. Go with the dining plan and it is like having a code. I went from the Dream Maker +Silver plan with 5 day Ultimate Park Hopper passes to MYW +Dining with Park Hopper Plus and the Magic Plus Pack and I saved about $550. That allowed me to add on 2 extra days for a total of 7. I'd say that if they wont allow the codes with packages, no big deal. It works out to be about the same anyway. (if not better) :)

Trying to price a week in March at the GF....

Total cost for 7 nights (peak season) with park one day passes (no hopping) and dining with 2 meals and a snack came out to $5217

CM found a code for AP holders...so if I bought my AP pass at $420ish and then opted to buy the 7 day MYWAY tickets for the remainder of my family (dh, 3 dc under 9) the total came up to be around $3685...

So that's a savings of $1532...I don't think I would spend $1500 in food...and at that cost I could buy a DDE card for $50 and save more on my meals.

The CM I spoke with said you can not use apply a code rate to the package...I've heard otherwise but we'll have to wait and see.

HTH!

From the posts I've read, and I may not be remembering them all correctly, but maybe the ones with codes that have added dining are email and postcard codes that are tied to a discount package as well and perhaps these are different from a general public code and then trying to add dining. Just a thought.

We booked a My Way package with park hoppers and dining and our room isn't rack rate. I broke it all down and it's about 35% off. Not quite as good as the ap rates last year, I think they were 40%, but for now it sure seems like a good deal considering aps might not even come out. My advice to anyone booking these new packages, go through a Disney travel agent, like Dreams Unlimited, because the prices they quoted me were much better than disneyworld.com or CRO. Probably about $1000 less.

Are you serious??? What was your quote? We are staying at Pop for 6 nights, 2 adults, one child, and one infant with 7 day tickets plus dining for like 1700 dollars. Is this way more than I should have paid? I think we were charged rack rate for the rooms. How did you figure yours out to see how much you were being charged per night?

Lesley

We booked 9 nights at Pop Century with 7 Day Park Hopper tickets and the dining package. Our total was around $2800. I think that's a pretty good deal. We were able to use an email code for our room.

So you were able to use the email code on your room? The email codes must be different. Did you have the reservation first and then apply the code, or call with the code to book the package? I am praying that these codes that come out will allow me to take something off of the room so we can upgrade to Wilderness Lodge.

What was your total then, if you dont mind me asking?

I hadn't made any reservations at all before I called yesterday. I was able to use an email code and book our room at the Pop and also get the 7 day park hopper with the dining package for all of my family (me, hubby, and two sons ages 10 and 11). The only thing is, our package is for 8 nights at Pop and we're staying 9, so our last night is separate from the package and we don't have dining for the last night.

Our total was right around $2800.

Do you know whether you will be able to use any left over dining options on your last night (as it is still within the 14 day window) or do the dining options expire on the last day of the package?

Dining expires at midnight the last night of the package. The tickets expire 14 days after first use.
