Can CM characters be seen while dining

at Concourse Steakhouse? DH, DD2 and I are planning on eating at Concourse Steakhouse- I am worried that if DD sees a character over at CM's that she will have a meltdown if she cannot go over and visit. I have looked at pictures of the restaurant and I can't tell if this could happen. Tried to change the ADR to CM but they are booked for 1st week of October. (We do have ADR for Ohana breakfast.)

Yes you can. When we were at CM's both Mickey and Minnie went over to shake hands with kids at Concourse Steakhouse. Some patrons complained, I thought it was great they got a bonus and we got to see some pretty happy faces. If this really would be a problem you could ask to be seated away from CM's. I don't believe you can see CM's from the whole resturant but the put close to CM's is a YES!! I would also continue to call. Remember 45 days out can open some ressies as people cancel so as not to lose deposit on vacation. I would call everyday if this was something I really thought my child wanted to do. If it just something if she sees it she'll want it try asking for seating the other side. I also believe when we were there Donald was outside the resturants for photos and autographs.

Thanks BBGirl for the quick reply! That was nice that the characters visited with the kids. I think I will take your advice about calling back closer to the 45 days. At this point it is very hard to change adr's for the popular meals.

wow i never thought of being able to see the characters from concourse, that could be interesting my ds loves and we have cm booked AFTER concourse (oops)

THe Charaters won't ignore your child at Concourse if you can see them. They just won't stop at the table like at Chef Mickey's. They wave and shke hands through the little divider that's there. Beware of some the parents at CM can be pretty nasty about this. Saying mean things to the kids and stuff, I would stand with my child to avoid this part of seeing them through the divider. I'll give the example from we were there. This women comes over to Mickey while he was at our table which was close to the divider and while she's there is when Mickey goes over to wave and shake a few hands througth the divider. After he walks away the women for want of a better word goes over to the divider and says something like people who don't pay for a charater meal should not except to see charaters at their meal. Well the little girl, about5-6, sitting there went from so HAPPY to crying that quick. Well I could not let this pass so I says "People who can't wait at their table for charaters to come to them like we were told have no room to complain." and she says well "my child couldn't wait." and I said "well you took the Charaters away from my table and to not do it again." So later during the Celebration song for my sons birthday, which when we where there was the only time Donald came to a table and only the celebration table. I ask Donald to wave and shake the little girls hand as she's had a rough night and he does so. Well that women's child about 8-9 to stands next to Donald at my table when she got up to take hes picture with him I imform the CM with Donald that they are not part of our group and she's told that unless she having a party Donald has to return to the area for pictures outside the resturant and she is welcome to visit him there. Later I hear her complaining that Donald visited with people over the divider but not her child. The manager politely explained that Donald had been asked to visit the people across the divider by the people who had the celebration but to keep Parties special the charater only visits with the celebration table at that time. Well if looks could kill. So beware of those who will ruin the magic and those who ruin others magic beware of me. The waiter later told me that if the women complained to higher ups that I had given all charaters a no write up for that night for that. I don't know what that meant but he seemed pretty happy about it.

BBGirl- Good for you to stand up to that ugly woman. That was mean of her to make that little girl cry. What difference did it make to her for Mickey to take two minutes to say hi to the girl.
And what was the woman thinking when she tried to push herself into your celebration to have her child's picture taken with Donald! You deserve pixie dust for sending Donald over to the divider to greet the little girl.

It probably means that the incident was recorded as involving two guests and not just one guest and characters, so it automatically lets the cast members in question off the hook. I guess. It makes me sick that people will fight over stuff like this. Poor kids.

I guess it didn't matter to that witch (whose business this was not, from the beginning) that the little girl's parents were probably paying FAR more for their non-character meal than she was paying to be an annoying twit.
