We are both Catholic and had our wedding at our church then Honeymooned in Disney. I have heard of brides on here who have a Catholic ceremony at a church somewhere nearby in Orlando and then the reception at Disney.

We are Catholic and were married in Disney.

We also had a convalidation ceremony when we returned, and this is certainly something you can discuss with your priest. In their eyes, you are not truly married until you have been married in the church. It was a wonderful experience, though, and I am so happy we did it.

There is also a Catholic church nearby, St. Mary Star of the Sea, and I think that is also a wonderful option to have the ceremony there and then the reception at Disney. You can certainly still use transportation, etc. to do that.

I'm Catholic, and DH did his sacraments a year after we were married. When we knew we wanted to get married at Disney we made an appointment with my priest and explained to him that we wanted both a Disney wedding and a Catholic marriage. We did all our pre-wedding classes and requirements, and found them GREAT experiences that have helped us with a strong and loving marriage. These were complete before we went to Florida.

We had a lovely ceremony (Jack Day was awesome) with our family at the WP, full reception, it was great. Went on the honeymoon and then went home. The next weekend DH and I, along with my parents as witnesses had a private, Catholic validation ceremony and then went to a beautiful resort for brunch.

I am blessed to have two wedding anniversaries, and DH remembers them both. We just celebrated 13 years in December.

Maybe we are just lucky, because nobody in our Parish (Priests or Deacons) thought twice about us having our WDW Wedding and then coming home to do a Catholic ceremony. We simply went in and said this is what we want for our family, and he said okay here is what you need to do.
